Unknown Sony device appears on GeekBench suggesting another flagship is on the way

0

Sony has already revealed its first round of devices for 2016 with the Sony Xperia X lineup. Now, it seems that the company may be working on a new flagship device if these GeekBench results are anything to go by.

GFXBench-Sony-F8331

The rumored device carries the model number “F833X” and is of a higher designation than the Sony Xperia X Performance (F813X). The first train of thought would be that this is a follow up device to the Xperia X Performance, but thanks to the folks at Xperia Blog, there are two more devices with preceding model numbers to the F833X (F8331 and F8332). This more than likely means we are in store for another series of devices from Sony at some point before 2016 concludes.

As for the device that was revealed via GeekBench, its specs include the following:

  • 5.1-inch 1080×1920 display
  • Snapdragon 820 Processor
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB Storage
  • 23MP rear-facing camera
  • 13MP front-facing camera

IFA Berlin begins in September, and if Sony was to pick a time to announce new devices, it would be at that event. We’ll probably start seeing more and more leaks filter through, but we’ll have to wait and see what Sony has up its sleeves for the 2016 holiday season.
