Grab your Android phone and start catching Pokemon in the US today

Heads-up: Pokemon Go is now live in the US for any and all wannabe trainers! Pokemon Go lets you use your phone as a window into the world of Pokemon. You can “catch” Pokemon in the real world. They’ll be AR figures that are seen through your phone’s camera, of course, but we aren’t splitting hairs on technicalities.

After catching a Pokemon, you can train them and level them up. Think you’re ready for battle? Head to a local arena or gym (usually a notable landmark) and start duking it out with whomever is fearless enough to challenge you.

You can stock up on Pokeballs at local checkpoint areas, which means you won’t have to pay for anything as long as you’re willing to move around. In fact, the only options for paying for stuff are storage upgrades and XP boosts, neither of which are necessary to catch ’em all.

Grab the download from Google Play right here, and let us know the first Pokemon you’ve captured in Pokemon Go once you’ve ventured out!
