Unknown ASUS smartphone gets benchmarked with a 5.5-inch display and 32GB of storage

Back in May, ASUS took the wraps off its latest generation of ZenFone devices with the ASUS ZenFone 3, ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe and the ASUS ZenFone Ultra, however the company may be working another addition to the lineup. Thanks to @raquandt on Twitter, it was revealed that a device named the “Asus Z01B” had passed through the popular benchmarking service, GFXBench.

The results show a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage, and octa-core Qualcomm processor. Additionally, the device includes a 12MP rear-facing camera and a 7MP front-facing camera. A notable absence on the device is the lack of an NFC chip, and that neither the front, or rear cameras possess the ability to process an HDR photo.

Once comparing the specs of the “Z01B” to the ZenFone 3, the conclusion could be drawn that this new device is an under-powered brother due to the lower camera resolution and smaller RAM and storage availability. There hasn’t been many rumors swirling around the ASUS stratosphere lately, but this device seems to be poised for release sooner rather than later.
