OnePlus might have to raise the price of the OnePlus 3 in the UK due to Brexit

The economic windfall of Brexit was made immediately apparent when the vote to leave the EU passed in Great Britain. The British pound weakened so much so that it hit a 31-year low against the US dollar,.

Unfortunately, that means consequences for those looking to buy certain products in the UK. OnePlus has had to come out and warn that since they do a large amount of their business with the US dollar, further weakening of the British pound could force them to raise the price of the OnePlus 3 to make up for it.

We’ve always strived to create the best product and deliver them to customers at a reasonable price. However, the worrying downward trend of the GBP may make it difficult to maintain our current pricing structure in the UK. Our margins have always been thin, and our expenses are mainly in USD. This being the case, sudden drops such as the one that the Pound has recently experienced could have a direct impact on our prices.

The company isn’t saying that will happen for certain, nor do they know when, exactly, they would have to make the change. That said, they’re urging UK folks who want to buy one to get it as soon as possible, otherwise they’ll potentially see the price tag raised to less desirable prices down the line.
