T-Mobile adds 2.2 million new customers in Q1 2016 and turns nearly half a billion dollars in profit

T-Mobile investors are going to love today’s news. The company has added over 2.2 million new customers in Q1 2016. The additions include over 1 million post-paid customers and 806,000 of the pre-paid variety. Here are some other interesting numbers from the report:

  • This is the 6th time in the last 7 quarters that T-mobile added 2 million customers or more.
  • This is the 12th consecutive quarter T-Mobile added more than 1 million customers.
  • Revenue of $8.6 billion was 10% higher than the same quarter a year ago.
  • T-Mobile turned $479 million in profit. The company only made $733 million for the entirety of 2015.

T-Mobile’s been on a hot streak lately, and there’s nothing to suggest the company will come to a halt anytime soon. T-Mobile continues to add value-packed features to their service such as Binge On and Music Freedom, adding interesting new plans, and sticking to their bold approach to marketing.

If all of that adds up to a solid quarter like the one we’re talking about today then they’ll likely stay on that track for the rest of this year. The earnings call is scheduled to happen later today, and we’ll be bringing you any interesting remarks from CEO John Legere and friends should they have anything to throw our way.
