Independence Day might not be the most deep story, have the greatest production value or even be the most original movie ever, but we’d be damned to say it isn’t a good popcorn movie. Google has the film up for just $.99 on the Google Play Store.

Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum in a tale about a colony of aliens finding their way to earth. Of all the people in the world, those 2 are the ones smart and ballsy enough to figure out how to save the earth from sure destruction. Oh, and that’s why Google’s putting it on sale — it fits the theme of Earth Day.

If nothing else, $1 gets you an hour and a half of some pure entertainment that doesn’t require too much effort to enjoy. Load it up on your Android device and Cast it to your TV for some good times this weekend.
