Google will be handing out awards for the best apps and games at Google I/O

Developers are the unsung heroes of smartphones. Let’s be honest, your phone would be pretty boring without the multitude of apps and games. Google knows how important developers are, which is why at Google I/O this year they will be handing out some awards.

The 2016 Google Play Awards will be divided into 10 categories, each with five nominated apps or games. The apps were selected by a panel of experts on the Google Play team. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a user vote. These are apps that Google likes. The awards will be given out on May 19th at 7PM. Check out the full list of categories and nominees below.
