Want to listen to podcasts straight in the Google App? Now you can

Google is making podcast discovery better in Google Search. With the recent launch podcasts in Google Play Music, the company decided to enhance search results with some nice new functionality.

When searching for a podcast on Google Search, Google will display the 3 most recent episodes of a show if it happens to be in their library. Not only do you see the episode’s titles, but you can also play them back right there. Simply hit the Play button and off you go.

Controls will come up at the bottom of the screen for pausing, fast forwarding and rewinding. You can even continue to do something else or shut the phone off while it continues to play.

This is a great way to get a preview of a podcast you may be looking into, or even if you just want to check out the latest episode of a show without having to subscribe to it on Google Play after hearing someone talk about it. It’ll be rolling out to the Google app starting today so keep it in mind the next time you hear about a show you might want to check out.
