Samsung phones consistently have some of the best cameras around. The Samsung Galaxy S7 continues that trend with an excellent camera, probably the best camera on a smartphone you can get right now. All of this success doesn’t mean Samsung is taking a rest. A new rumor suggests that Samsung is working on an even better camera sensor for future devices.

This rumor comes out of PhotoRumors. They claim that Samsung is working on a new 1/1.7-inch CMOS camera sensor with an aperture of f/1.4. The Galaxy S7 has a 1/2.6-inch sensor and f/1.7 aperture. This new sensor could have a resolution up to 24MP. Samsung has been moving people away from their NX cameras and putting more people in the smartphone camera department. It’s clear that Samsung takes these devices very serious, and the results prove it.
