Verizon suffering shortages with free Gear S2 with a Galaxy S7 promo, won’t ship smartwatch until May

0

If you don’t remember, Verizon recently ran a promotion for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge that would net you a free Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch for buying it early. If you were able to get in on that promotion, there’s some sad news: Verizon might not be able to ship the device until May.

The company cites a high level of interest as the cause for the delay. It’s a strange situation considering companies usually have limited inventory set aside for promotions like these, and they often don’t offer more than they are able to ship. That said, there could be any number of reasons why this has occurred, such as unforeseen delays on Samsung’s part or Verizon’s need to fill paid orders before promotional orders.

In any case, this was a free promotion so we’re not sure many will be up in arms about such a lengthy delay (though we wouldn’t blame you for stepping into a shroud of disappointment).
