Check your email: Galaxy S7 units are starting to ship!

Pre-sales for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge went live just a few short days after Samsung officially announced the things, and with a March 11th launch date we knew they’d be right around the corner. But they could be arriving at some folks’ doorsteps earlier than we expect: T-Mobile customers are reporting that tracking numbers are now going out!

Before T-Mobile customers jump for joy and the rest freak out, let’s remember a few things:

  • Shipment notifications don’t necessarily mean a device is making a beeline to your door. T-Mobile could just be going through the logistic motions of preparing your shipment details for when they actually send it.
  • Then again, the device could be at your doorstep well ahead of March 11th. It’s happened before.
  • T-Mobile isn’t the only carrier with a history of shipping devices as soon as they have them, so those on Sprint, Verizon and AT&T should be on the lookout, too.

Rumors ahead of Mobile World Congress suggested Samsung was going to let pre-orderers get the device 3 days early, and while that perk never came to fruition we could still see the device sooner than we originally anticipated. Talk to us in the comments below and let us know if you’re seeing a shipment notification, including which carrier you’re on and the day you ordered your device!

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

[Update]: It sounds like it isn’t just logistics: boxes are on trucks for delivery today!
