Mophie’s Juice Pack for the Samsung Galaxy S7 uses wireless charging

0

Mophie has announced their Juice Pack for the Samsung Galaxy S7. The Galaxy S7’s Mophie Juice Pack utilizes wireless charging, but not in the same way that Samsung’s backpack case does (which charges over USB and passes the juice to the phone wirelessly).

Instead, Mophie’s version charges its own 3,300mAh battery wirelessly (using all the popular charging standards), and sends the juice over a USB connection. That means the device still needs some sort of chin for the microUSB connector, but it isn’t unsightly like we’ve seen in years past. If you want to charge both the phone and the juice pack at the same time you can use the Juice Pack’s external microUSB port to do so.

The Mophie pack looks quite slim despite its 3,300mAh rating, though we’ll have to wait for more imagery and exact dimensions to see if it really is that sleek. Pre-orders will begin soon, but until then you can register to learn more at Mophie’s website if you’re interested.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
