Honor UK has opened up sign-ups for users to beta test Android Marshmallow on the Honor 4X, Honor 6, and Honor 6+. This update will bring those devices up to the latest version of Emotion UI (EMUI), which can already be found on the Huawei Mate 8. Honor, the sub-brand of Huawei, has been busy lately. At CES 2016 they announced the super-affordable Honor 5X, which we were lucky enough to get our hands on.

EMUI is a heavily altered version of Android. It has more in common with Apple’s iOS than stock Android. There’s no such thing as an app drawer in the default launcher. Apps are placed on the home screen, just like an iPhone. Everything from the notification tray, settings, and power menu has a distinct fruity feel. It’s a really nice UI, but it takes some getting used to.

If you have any of the Honor phones listed above, you can sign up to beta test the Marshmallow update here. Note that you are signing up for a chance to test the update. Not everyone who signs up will be accepted.
