It’s been a while since we updated our Best Android Phones rankings, but that’s for good reason. A ton of new phones have launched in the past couple of months. We can now sort through them all and rank the phones that will take us through the Holiday season.

As expected, there has been a major shake-up at the top of the list. Our last update was top heavy with Samsung devices after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Since then we’ve seen new devices from Motorola, LG, HTC, and new Nexus’.

For the first time ever (I think), a Nexus phone is at the top of our list. Huawei’s Nexus 6P has been universally praised as the best Android phone available right now, and we wholeheartedly agree. The Nexus 5X also made the list, but it lands in the bottom half of the top ten. Phones that have been released in the last couple of months make up 70% of the top ten right now. The Motorola DROID Turbo 2, LG V10, HTC One A9, Motorola DROID Maxx 2, and Motorola Moto X Pure Edition all made the list.

Check out full Best Android Phones page to see exactly where the phones have been ranked. You’ll also find news about upcoming and rumored phones. Visit our main Android Phones page to see rankings for best, upcoming, and rumored all in one place.

Ever since I flipped open my first phone I've been obsessed with the devices. I've dabbled in other platforms, but Android is where I feel most at home.
