Hangouts 6.1 finally brings Quick Reply from notifications, but it’s only on iOS for now

0

Hangouts has gotten itself a pretty nice update today, but sadly enough there’s just one userbase who will get to enjoy it: those on iOS. It’s Hangouts 6.1, and that crowd is being treated to the ability to quick reply straight from notifications. This is a feature many Android users have been clamoring for, so we’re obviously about miffed that the feature has hit a rival platform first.

That said, Google hasn’t historically taken too long to make sure there’s parity between the 2 platforms, so it shan’t be long before we are hooked up with the same goods. Unfortunately it’s time to get used to this folks, because despite cries for change Google has shown they’re more interested in bringing new features fast no matter which platform gets them, and for one reason or another that platform just happens to be iOS in recent times.

In any case, it’s nice to get an early look at what’s to come so we can at least look forward to something in the days and weeks to come.
