Sling TV adds Chromecast support, get a free one with a 3-month subscription

Sling users, fire up your Chromecast units: functionality for the media playing dongle has finally arrived. You’ll be able to stream your internet TV straight to Chromecast as you would any other content. It’s a great addition for those who prefer to use Google’s affordable little darling over having to buy more expensive hardware.

To celebrate that fact, Sling is giving out a Chromecast unit to anyone who pre-pays for 3 months of service. It’s $20 per month, and comes with access to live broadcasts of ESPN, TNT, TBS, AMC, Adult Swim, Disney Channel, Food Network, HGTV, Cartoon Network, Polaris+, and more. Other packages and channels can be added for as low as $5 per month.

For those who already have a Chromecast, you’ll be entitled to a free 2-month trial of that same package. Either way, Chromecast and Sling TV users on either end of the stick have a lot to look forward to. The update should be heading out through Google Play later today, at which time Google should also be adding this sweet deal to their Chromecast Offers site.
