If you had a computer in the early days of the internet, you are probably familiar with AOL Mail. It launched over 20 years ago as one of the first email services, and it was massively popular. It was so popular that a major movie starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan was titled after the classic “you’ve got mail” notification sound. Now, AOL is getting into the email game again.

Today, AOL is launching a brand new email app. It’s called “Alto Mail,” and it works with Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Outlook.com, iCloud, and even AOL Mail (which apparently still exists). Alto has a really beautiful design that fits right in with Material Design. It’s intended to be used with multiple accounts and once, and it takes a similar approach to Google Inbox by showing you the emails that are important to you.

Alto is divided into a few different pages. First and foremost is a traditional inbox that lists emails from all of your accounts. Then there’s a dashboard page with Google Now-like cards for flights, packages, and more. Lastly, there is a page that shows only the photos from your emails, and a page that shows just the files. It seems like a really well-organized way to access your mail. If you’re looking for a new email app to try, check out Alto Mail for free from the Play Store.
