Samsung Gear S2 and S2 Classic could launch October 2nd

0

Samsung has yet to reveal official details about the Samsung Gear S2’s launch, but we’re sure they’ve been talking about it behind the scenes. Some of that behind the scenes info was let loose thanks to a Samsung Experience training video that was uncovered on YouTube.

The video, which is a live broadcast of a training workshop to get Samsung Experience agents up to speed on the Samsung Gear S2, had more to it than boring slides of how to change watch faces and use apps. They dropped a nugget of info about the device’s expected launch date: October 2nd.

Furthermore, they’ve confirmed that the device will be available directly through some US carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and US Cellular. We’re sure it’ll also find its way to Best Buy and Amazon. That gives us just over 2 short weeks before we’re finally able to slap these things onto our wrists.

The Gear S2 lineup is sure to be Samsung’s best yet, with it being the first wave of circular smart watches from the Korean company. It also runs on any phone with Android 4.4 KitKat and at least 1.5GB of RAM, so if you don’t have a Samsung phone you can still get in on the fun. Be sure to check out our hands-on impressions of the thing from earlier this month if you’re wondering whether it’s a viable option over going with something that runs Android Wear.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
