Koush’s latest app lets you control your Android phone from your PC

Koush has brought a lot of great apps to Android over the years, but his latest might be the most exciting yet. It’s Vysor, and it lets you control your Android phone from your PC using a simple Google Chrome extension.

Vysor differs from other remote viewing apps in its ability to act like an Android emulator, only the emulator is whatever’s actually installed on your phone and not a virtual environment meant just for testing and debugging. This means it’s possible to do things like text or initiate calls without even having to pick your phone up.

It does all this thanks to the advent of ADB, something you’ll need to be comfortable using if you want to take advantage. Thankfully that also means it doesn’t require root access, so if you’re against rooting your phone for whatever reason then there’s no need to worry.

Vysor’s most exciting feature is Vysor Share, which not only lets you control your phone from your local PC, but even remotely over the internet. It’d be a great option to help someone set their phone up or fix an issue without having to be present.

Koush says this was originally meant to be a development tool, but even typical power users can get some cool use out of Vysor. If that sounds like you, be sure to check it out over at the Chrome App Store and give it a go!

PS: Koush is quick to note that Vysor is still considered a beta product, so it’s a bit rough around the edges. Be sure to keep that in mind when leaving your feedback.
