One of the three devices Motorola announced today was the next generation of Moto G. The Moto G is actually Motorola’s best-selling device. Its low price and great performance make it a very popular unlocked device around the globe. The Moto G hasn’t changed a lot since the first generation, but Motorola has slowly improved it every time. Here’s how the 2015 model fares against last year.

Motorola has made improvements in 3 key areas: camera, battery, and RAM. The camera has been bumped up to 13MP on the rear and 5MP up front. Battery life, which was already good, should get even better with a bigger 2470 mAh battery. If you opt for the 16GB model (which you should), you can get 2GB of RAM.

Another big difference with the 2015 model is Moto Maker. Instead of a few replaceable back covers to choose from you can fully customize it online. You can choose from colors for the front, back, and accents. This type of customization is simply not available for any device at this price point. Speaking of price, the 8GB model is $179 and the 16GB model is $219. Head on over to Motorola’s website to build your own!
