Still had doubt that Google and Huawei are in talks for the next Nexus phone? The latest report from The Information seems to corroborate those prior rumors, with the outlet saying the launch is slated for this fall.

What we didn’t know before, however, is what the two would be doing to scratch each others’ backs. It’s said Huawei’s end of the bargain will be to help Google get an apps store — whether that’s Google Play or one made-to-order — up and running in China, a country where they’ve met heavy resistance to now.

In turn, Google will help Huawei increase their presence in western territories by pushing their Android Wear watches and helping with marketing for the aforementioned Nexus phone. That doesn’t sound like a bad deal for both sides, and with Huawei’s phones getting better and better with each release we’re starting to warm up to the idea of seeing a Nexus phone with their name stamped on it.
