The weekend is on the way out, but our Gift-a-Day Giveaway and gift ideas are still kicking. Today we’re taking a look at a product that could only exist in 2014 (soon to be 2015). Selfies are taking the world by storm, and the term is even in some dictionaries now. If you partake is this phenomenon you may be interested in the Selfie Stick from AndroidArea.com!

What is it?

The iZZi Pod a.k.a. “Selfie Stick” is a telescoping pole that can hold your phone up to 3.5-feet away. It works with the iZZi Cam SHTR so you can snap the photo via Bluetooth from up to 30-feet away. This is perfect for those times you can’t reach your arm out far enough to get everyone in the shot.

The Selfie Stick is adjustable to fit most smartphones, and the Bluetooth remote shutter works with Android and iOS. Check it out in action below.

And now what you’re all waiting for: another chance to win a Nexus device or smartwatch in our Holiday giveaway! Entries for this day will remain open until 11:59 PM (Eastern) on December 21st. Good luck!

Ever since I flipped open my first phone I've been obsessed with the devices. I've dabbled in other platforms, but Android is where I feel most at home.

    1. You win, LoL!!

  2. I’m gonna comment here as well too in hopes of winning the contest.

  3. I saw someone with a kind of tripod stick and a full size camera doing a selfie video at an art gallery. It’s like dude, just have your wife video you instead.

  4. Wonder how soon after New Years the 2015 smart watches will come out and how they will improve on this year’s models. Will there be a Nexus Smart watch?

    1. there isn’t going to be a nexus smart watch. every android wear device is running stock android so there isn’t a need for it. every android wear device can be considered a “nexus smart watch” in a way.

  5. Interesting

  6. Hmmm

  7. i would love to have something like this

  8. When ever I see one of these hideous contraptions, I really feel like snapping it in half while at the same time taking the stupid photo for the stupid people using the damn thing :P. Bloody selfies, hate em lol

  9. Cool as a gift idea I guess–if you have short arms or whatever. I’m pretty sure whoever invented the self portrait is pumping their fist in heaven right now.

  10. I’m sorry but, every time I see someone using one of those things I want to run over and break it over my leg like I just struck out. I know it’s a d!ck way to feel but something about those things enrage me…

  11. These are so obnoxious.. only people that are socially inept would whip that thing out without being embarrassed and turning beet red.

Maybe the only thing South Korea has going for it is outlawing these dumb things.

ps – what is it about Asians and the peace sign? I traveled some in Japan, peace signs going up everywhere and no other culture does it as much, Why?

    1. I highly doubt you’re going to get a straightforward answer with your question. Though, now that I think about it, I do see a lot of Asians holding the peace sign. I see this a lot in Anime and also with cosplayers. I never realized it before.

  12. OMG!! I cannot believe this!! LoL!!

  13. I have one of these. While using them in shopping malls and elevators deserves a punch to the head, I have found it really useful on my self drive holidays when I travel alone. Using this you can appear in photo in a relatively relaxed and normal manner, as if someone else took the photo. otherwise you just end up with a bunch of empty landscapes.
