T-Mobile delays the Nexus 6 launch to November 19th

T-Mobile has just announced on Twitter that they are delaying the Nexus 6 launch one week. The reason behind the delay is not clear, but Tmo said they want to give “customers the best experience possible.” We don’t want to speculate, but our guess would have something to do with low inventory. Perhaps they’ve seen the trouble Google has had in the Play Store and they want to make sure the same doesn’t happen to them.

The Nexus 6 was originally slated to go on sale tomorrow (November 12th) from T-Mobile. We’re still waiting for the Nexus 6 to be available to purchase from any carrier, but pre-orders are starting on AT&T and Sprint soon. The Nexus 6 is a very big phone, and everyone is hoping it will be an equally big seller. Were you planning on buying the Nexus 6 tomorrow from T-Mobile? Will you wait another week?

Ever since I flipped open my first phone I've been obsessed with the devices. I've dabbled in other platforms, but Android is where I feel most at home.

  1. It still falls into the impulse buy category for me. Was planning to pick it up tomorrow. A week from now not sure.

  2. Sucks :( Sorry to all the T-mo folks, you have my condolences.

  3. Aaaarrrrgggghhhh! Now that is our of my system, hopefully they’re adding the white version to the selection. It’s a big miss on tmo’s side of they just launch with the blue model.

  4. I have no problems waiting a week. I am fine with it. I am glad to see that T Mobile is delaying it, if they don’t have the inventory. I don’t know why people constantly complain about this. I view this as a good thing.

    1. Me too. I was amped to be able to go in there in the morning and hopefully jump from my nexus 5. Although thus developer preview has been good to me and my phone for the last month. I hope they at least release the official lollipop version tomorrow.

    2. I don’t see it as a horrible thing but i dont see it as a “good” thing either.
Letting 10% of the potential 1st shipment buyers get it today and letting the rest get it on the next shipment is still better than making everyone wait until next week.

I remember i was pissed when I had to wait to get my Evo LTE because I was supposed to get it before I went away for the weekend.

  5. My week is ruined!!!

  6. It’s just Tmobile taking a back seat to Verizon and AT&t

    1. No it’s not. AT&T starts presales. Verizon isn’t even selling the phone.

  7. Well Chit on me , why don’t ya , first I spent a couple days haggling on craigslist to sell my nexus 5 , then I spent literally at leats 3 to 4 hrs calling T Mobile making sure the phone was still going to be in ( Certain Stores ) Tomorrow for purchase , they all said yes that was the case then I spent the nest 3 hours calling at least 35 to 40 stores to see if any of them would have the phone in stock , and I got that same answer everytime , don’t know , or even no ,I mean I understood that only possibly 1 out of three stores may carry a few , I’ve been around long enough to know how the game is played, but to told yes by retentions at t mobile , I wasn’t just going to ask some parrot reading an answer off of her computer screen , I would of rather of been told No we won’t be selling the phone period , of course now with less then 24 hrs they tweet something , forget about the Note Edge , that was supposed to be available for purchase in Limited quantities on Friday , when I call most stores I get Note what..? Like they never heard about the phone of even of it’s existence , I left sprint after 18 yrs because of horrible service and even worse customer service , this just might of put the nail in the coffin for me and t Mobile , AT&T’s Prices for a Family are closer now then they have ever been , and goes without saying much better service , and if that aint a kick in the pant’s a very good friend of mine has a business account with AT&T and he called and was told yes they will have a note edge Friday for purchase if he so desires , Go Figure , Okay sorry peep’s for the rant , guess it’s been one of those day’s Good Luck to all the AT&T and Sprint People that at least are supposed to be able to pre -order the nexus 6 tomorrow…………OOOOhhhh God what a day , I need a DRINK ……Later Peep’s

    1. No one has the Nexus 6, so up until it’s actually out in the market we can’t really judge. As for the Edge, it was expected to be limited release.

Yes it’s frustrating, but a little patience will go a long way, especially for the Nexus 6.

  8. i thought there is a bug in lollipop that delayed the release of it for the nexus phones? maybe thats why they are delaying it to give google a chance to fix them?

  9. I use tmo but am going to get it from the playstore (pending battery reviews).

  10. Should I get the Nexus 6? I have $650 to spend on a new phone in a few weeks, so I might pick up the Nexus 6 for TMO. I have crap coverage at home and need Wi-Fi Calling, so a temp solution is imperative since Spring 2015 means Wi-Fi Calling on the Nexus 6.

    1. Tmobile is giving out free signal repeaters right now if you have a post paid account. Turns one bar of LTE into five throughout your home. Could help you out until wifi calling update is pushed through.

      1. Thanks for the suggestion. I have a booster now myself. I have the one with Wi-Fi though, but I should just switch it out for the other model?

        1. I would since the repeater retails at $300 while T-Mobile is discounting the router for purchase at $100.

          1. How does the repeater get signal and boost it?

          2. It’s two units. You put the window unit a place in your home where you get the strongest LTE. At least 1 bar. The coverage unit you place in a centralized location in your home and what it does is repeat that one bar giving you full signal throughout your home.

          3. Okay, I’ll look into getting that. Now, to decide if I will buy the Nexus 6, Moto X 2014, Note 4 (if I can get it cheaper than MSRP), iPhone 6, or Xperia Z3. iPhone 6 is highly unlikely, but still an option.

  11. The more Google Play, Motorola, and carriers screw up this launch, the more logical I’m becoming with my money. At this point I’m ready just to say screw all 3 and keep my Nexus 5.

    1. I would totally agree with your sentiment, only problem for me is I sold my mint condition n5 yesterday morning, to help subsidize , the nexus 6 , now I’m totally regretting it, especially since I threw in over 125$ on accessories lesson learned for sure, I’ve owned just about every android phone out there and the nexus 5 despite the cheap price was definitely my favorite phone

  12. I believe it is low inventory. I went to the store yesterday and the dude told me that not a lot of stores were getting it.
