OnePlus owners can look forward to an even more stable phone today as a new update has started rolling out to handsets. Version 30O — which is still CyanogenMod 11S-based — brings us Android 4.4.4 and all the fixes and changes that come with it. Beyond that, OnePlus has detailed many new fixes and changes that should all go toward providing a more pleasant experience. Here’s the full list:

  • Upgraded to Android 4.4.4
  • Updated to new versions of Google apps
  • Added Clear Image
  • Added new (colder) calibration for the screen
  • Proximity sensor prevents activation of off-screen gestures while in your pocket
  • Capacitive touch keys supported in the recovery mode
  • Increased capacitive button illumination
  • Improved overall stability
  • Fixed issues with vibration being disabled during Quiet Hours
  • Fixed lockscreen not updating the track information during music playback
  • Fixed microphone volume for all formats in the Voice Recorder app
  • Fixed “OK, Google” not triggering voice search in Google Now
  • Fixed Viber calls not working
  • Fixed battery percent not updating in custom lock screens
  • Fixed PicasaSync
  • Fixed Camera “O” gesture activating lockscreen instead of triggering camera
  • Fixed wallpapers not applying in full screen, taking the wrong size when cropping, etc

OnePlus emphasizes that the update is “slowly” rolling out, so don’t be alarmed if you head to the settings menu to check for it and it doesn’t show its face. Should you be lucky enough to have it available to download you’ll wan to charge your battery to full and hop onto a WiFi network to ensure things go down smoothly. Let us know how the update works out for you in the comments once you’re able to pull it down.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

          2. THAT MAKES TWO OF US ………LOL

        3. I’m sorry but my invites are not yet arrived… and my friends bought it from a shop that imports Chinese OPOs :(

        4. If I get any sharable invites, no problem. I’m in love with this phone, and would love to get it in more folks hands…

        5. Check your email Chris…

      1. Pretty incredible. I’ve only met one person that has an Oppo phone in my life. At least I think it was an Oppo phone. Beyond that I’ve only met two people who have Huawei phones.

    2. LMAO!

    3. Damn I just literally laughed out loud

  2. Yay, an update for a phone I can’t buy anywhere… how exciting.

    1. So pissed cuz I got an invite over the weekend, but it was only valid for 24 hours. By the time I tried buying the phone today, it was expired. #thanksoneplus

      1. It’s all an illusion!

      2. The hate for this company online is strong and deserved. :)

        1. Yet the devotion for it also runs strong. Amazing mix of frustration and enthusiasm.

          1. That’s true, if I could buy one I would.

But I’m not going to jump through hoops for invites, it’s a stupid system.

      3. Keep checking :
I had one of my invites to give expire due to the person not using it.
Then, about 3-4 days later, it was reactivated & successfully used.

      4. I thought you sold your oneplus?

      5. while roaming the oneplus forums for an invite I read of some cases where expired invites were reactivated by customer support or by the forum admins

  3. Thanks, I love the phone!

  4. Also love my OPO. Very excited for
“Added new (colder) calibration for the screen”

  5. There are actual owners? Thought this was a running gag/hoax..

  6. “OnePlus emphasizes that the update is “slowly” rolling out…”

They’ve only allowed, what, 300 or so people actually buy one these? How slow does the update need to roll out with so few actual users?

    1. staged rollouts have many benefits and mostly they help with uncovering issues and new bugs caused by the update without having all the devices affected; it doesn’t matter how many devices they sold

      1. If there aren’t enough people at each stage, you’re likely to miss issues.

        1. as i wrote in an earlier comment, when i ordered mine 3 weeks ago my order number was a little under 60.000 so there should be at least 50.000 devices in the wild

          1. Are you sure the order #s are sequential and started from 00001? If there have truly been that many sold already, why are they still doing this begging for invites thing?

          2. It seems sequential and it correlated (as i have my phone i don’t visit the website anymore) with the id number of those getting invites in the early supporters campaign where they where sending hundreds of invites each day based on how early you registered; there where somewhere around 150k users registered so at least 90k more then the ones with phones…they were planing to have a preorder system in place by september/octomber.. but I’m not defending them – the invite system was very annoying – I registered on 19th of May and only got an invite on 25th July – just saying that I understand that they started something from scratch and it isn’t easy

  7. Great. The camera and background resizing was weird issues for me. OK google usually worked but would take a couple of times repeating once in a while.

  8. What is the reason this phone can be ordered only with an invite? A customer who has enough money to pay for it is not OK?

    1. They don’t have much supply. It’s not as bad, I only did 2-3 of their guerrilla marketing events and got an invite.

      1. You are one of the few that won! I had to wait and mine is coming in the mail tomorrow.

    2. i ordered mine 3 weeks ago and my order number was a little under 60.000 so compare that with the big manufactures that sell millions of them… invites where a way to manage the initial lack of supply without having customers preorder the device months before the supply is high enough to satisfy the demand

  9. Sweet! Mine is coming in this week.

Only thing that worries me is the increased capacitive button light, I’m all about conserving battery life.

    EDIT:

GOT IT TODAY!! Nice surprise. I’m glad they’re going to increase the button lights cuz they’re really low.

Man this phone is big, but feels nice in the hand.

    1. Mine too!

    2. I missed the USPS guy.. wont get mine until tomorrow :'(

    3. You can disable capacitive buttons and use onscreen buttons.

      1. I like the extra screen real estate if I have the option of capacitive.

        1. I was too used to the Nexus 5 setup so I disabled it and don’t mind losing a little space.

    4. capacitive button lights should be very low batter consumption.

  10. If anyone has an invite to give away I would greatly appreciate it!

  11. This entire invite system has been one huge beta trial.

  12. Oh Well Back to the drawing board……………..

  13. installed the update. flashlight gesture is still buggered..
