Not many software designers are as well-known as Matias Duarte. In 2010 he was hired by Google after three years of designing the user experience of Palm OS. At this time Android was considered clunky and ugly. Fast forward four years and Matias has helped completely revamp the look and feel of all Google services and products. Android fans love Matias for his great design sense, but he is also known for something else: his shirts.

Whenever Matias takes the stage at a keynote or does an interview he likes to wear flamboyant shirts. This has become Matias’ signature look, and people have come to expect it with each event. In honor of Matias Duarte we dedicate this edition of Android Wallpaper to his shirts. We have chosen five HD patterns that would look great on Matias and your Android device. To get one of these on your phone, tablet, or PC simply tap or click the download link underneath each image. #PraiseDuarte

ROFL. I don’t know what’s sadder, me immediately making the connection from the title or whoever is taking the time out to be inspired by Mr. Duarte’s questionable fashion sense. I will say this though, it takes an extremely confident man to wear those shirts out in public.

Questionable? The man is a fashion icon for nerds/geeks everywhere! :D

I’m OK with his shirts, although I find them very feminine hippy style. But if someone likes these patterns as wallpapers, he should seriously consider a psychiatric evaluation.

I like all these too… but similar to last week, they’re more suitable for lock screen than home screen. It’d be too hard to see your icons with these as your primary wallpaper.

That being said, there was a really “noisy” music one from last week that I’ve kept enabled. I know where everything is… so it’s funny when someone asks to use my phone and they’re just all “WTF”, give up, and hand it back.

That reminds me of a prank you could easily do on a Windows XP PC. Take a screenshot, set it as a wallpaper, lock the pc and pull the login prompt into a corner, hiding it away.
