Report: LG G Watch will cost less than $200

LG G Watch

The LG G Watch has been a popular topic in the Android world these last few days. We’ve heard rumors that it will be shown off and given away at I/O, plus we got a detailed look at its specs. The one thing that we haven’t heard much about is pricing and release date. A new rumor has shed some light on both of those subjects.

Paul O’Brien from MoDaCo says the G Watch will be priced below the Samsung Gear 2 Neo and Pebble Steel smartwatches. The Neo is currently available for $199 while the Steel costs $249. He goes on to say the G Watch will be released on July 7th in the UK. If true, this pricing and release would be incredible.

Many people have speculated that the G Watch would be the cheap Android Wear device. An easy entry level smartwatch to get newcomers interested in the platform. The Moto 360 will likely come at a more premium price tag. If the G Watch does indeed come with a sub-$200 price tag it will be a compelling device. Will you be getting the LG G Watch or holding out for the Moto 360? What price would be too much for you to get the 360?

Have a really nice looking square smartwatch already. 360 or go home.

  • idongacha

$250 or less with the 360. And 5 days standby time.

    • AbbyZFresh

5 days for a first generation Android Wear smartwatch? You’re out of your mind.

      • idongacha

I mean moto did do wonders for battery life with the droid maxx. Never know what their killer feature is. And I’m very sane.

  • toomuchgame441

Yea I’d be interested in one at that price…

  • youareme7

if the lg is 200 and the moto is 250, moto all the way, if the gap gets to 100 though that makes thing tougher

  • Captain Spaulding

The 360 wins in the sexiness department that’s for sure. I can’t wait to learn more about the 360, such as features and specs. We just don’t know anything yet.

    • Wozn2

I’ll go for a 360 if the screen is highly readable in sunlight and the battery life is better than 2 days of use.

    • TheJunkie

OMG, that picture makes it look so thick. I think I’m falling out of love with the 360.

      • Captain Spaulding

Tou have to have room for internal components.

      • Da Fuq

A regular mechanical watch isn’t any thinner.

  • Chris Brown

Holding out for the 360! I’ve already have money set aside and ready to purchase on release.

  • steveb944

198.99. If the 360 is $100 more than the G it better pack a punch or I’m ignoring it

  • TeeJay1100

I always said that LG better price this thing under $200. If not is already dead and a waste of time
