Sending money is just one of those modern conveniences that seems to be getting easier and easier as technology progresses. If you thought hopping into your Gmail account to send money was easy enough, how about being able to send it purely by voice? Well, that’s what Google could be cooking up for Glass users once Google Wallet arrives on the wearable.

According to sources out of TechCrunch, the upcoming feature — which is currently undergoing internal testing — will allow users to simply speak the phrase, “send money” to send funds. While being able to pay someone back for a good or service nearly hands-free is a convenient one, just keep in mind Google gets a small percentage of those transactions lest you add your bank account to Google Wallet.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. In before a dev mods it to work with “SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY”

    1. OMG! Perfect use case scenario.

      1. It would also be pretty good with “throw my money at…[name]”

  2. What’s next we can control our cars with our Glass or flush my toilet

      1. *entering Chris Chavez dream cloud* lol

    1. There’s been a Tesla app for a while now.

    1. Hahaha, walk up next to somebody, make it activate, “okay glass send money to [your name]” how much? “All of it”.

      1. Then convientaley Glass picks up you saying dnt shoot lol

        1. I feel like the majority of glass wearers aren’t the type that would have a CPL. Plus, that isn’t an appropriate situation to shoot someone even if you did.

          1. Lets hope ppl who will try to rob us(not saying it should)will be clueless and not know what you wearing on ur head lol

    2. I’m guessing it only works with your 10 preferred Glass contacts or at most, the people in your Google contacts. You could steal my Glass and only be able to send my friends and family money.

      1. It’ll be an inside job then. ;) My Google account holds way too many G+ contacts I don’t care to carry on me, but I have to.

      2. I’ll will take my chances with Money Gram or Western Union lol…Any hacker could hack ur glass and make you believe you sending money when in fact they draining your account haha.

  5. This sounds like a horrible idea! What happens when you let someone demo you Glass and they speak the option?

  6. Google should build in voice recognition security feature, or a secret head motion sequence you set up to confirm payments, that being said if someone did speak the option themselves, that would be a felony, google could even save the sound clips of you paying people in a secure file in your wallet as evidence for their trial.

    1. Your total is $9.59. – Hold on, let me do my pharaoh dance.
