Sony Z Ultra Google Play edition is now $200 cheaper

sony z ultra price cut

Anyone still in the market for a Sony Z Ultra from the Google Play Store? You might want to hop on it now, as Google has decided to slash its price by $200. That makes the device just $449, which will get you a massive 6.4-inch 1080p display, a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, an 8 megapixel Exmor RS rear camera, 2GB of RAM and more.

Sure, this thing’s massive bezel probably makes it closer to a tablet than a phone, but if you feel like bigger is better and you need your main cellular device to be bigger than the rest, this isn’t a bad way to go. Head to Google Play and order one for yourself if you’re interested.

I probably would’ve snapped this up if it were available in Australia.

Sony’s an idiot for not opening this device up to more markets.

I meant the GPE version. The standard version is available Australia wide.

        • Roaduardo

So did I. GPE should be opened up to every market the regular device is sold. If you can do one version you should be able to do all.

            Fair enough.

            That’s not Sony. Its Google!

          • Roaduardo

            Well then shame on Google.

Would be a great device to use on T-Mobile with an unlimited data plan since its basically a tablet thats considered a phone.

I’ve played with it at a Sony store, and while it’s beautiful device, it is hardly a phone.

      • Tojen1981

I was kind of going at it from the angle of it being the closest thing to having unlimited data on a tablet rather than using it for the phone functionality. As a primary phone, there’s just no way I could have something that big as a DD. My g pro with a ballistic case is maxxed out in my pocket.
