LG G Watch Black and Gold

We’ve seen enough official product shots of the LG G Watch to know what the watch will look like when it debuts later this year. It’s black-on-black. Oh, and square… and that’s about it. Nothing too inspiring.

But it seems the smartwatch will come in another color as well — Champagne Gold. LG took to their social networks to post new images of the gold variant, feature a white rubber strap with gold accents. It’s not too flashy, and should satisfy the tastes of those looking for something a little brighter than what we original saw from the G Watch.

LG also updated their landing site with additional images, showing their watches and a few more details like it’s water resistance and always-on display. We can’t help but wonder how much battery life these watches will get, and if we’ll need to be plugging in every day to keep them juiced. Expect more details like pricing and availability coming soon.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. The Champagne Gold one actually looks pretty neat. Not sure I could pull it off, but neat.

    1. Agreed. Looks nice, but I’m not sure if I could pull it off either. I still like the square face of this watch. Moto 360’s circular face has me concerned how well it will display text and pictures.

  2. Man… after seeing how the Moto 360 looks like, every other smart watch looks ugly in comparison. However, the G Watch isn’t trailing that far behind design wise, and it definitely looks better than Samsung’s smartwatch offering.

    1. At least Samsung offering is available on the market and people seem to be using it. It may not be perfect but I would not expect any miracles from Wear that exists only as a concept for now…

      1. Announcement of the 360 is actually not too far away, I believe it’s June if I remember correctly.

        1. Yeah, how long before product will be available to buy… Announcement is just couple of words and press release… But I see your point…

          1. I think the moto looks awesome but in the end, i dont want a screen that cuts off the corners. I prefer lg / sony / sammys square shape.

  3. Nope

  4. I dig it. I only hope it’s not some crap Samsung like IP67 water resistance. Just get me a price and release date LG, then I’ll decide.

    1. Why? You want to go in the pool with your watch on?

      1. Wait. You actually don’t want the same functions as a real watch?

  5. The always on screen is nice. I wish they’d do champagne gold (rose gold would be even better) and a black wrist band. I like that look.

  6. This thing in white/gold is never-before-seen levels of gaudy.

  7. I would guess based on the battery life of the G2 compared to the competition that this watch will have pretty good battery life.

  8. Hmmm… ugly ugly ugly.

  9. Does always on mean mirasol display? Hope so but probably not!
