All aboard the 4G LTE train: passengers in 20 new markets will be hopping on board for Sprint’s 4G LTE network starting today.

The list doesn’t include many well-known cities, but Sprint has already hit much of those places with the signal, and making sure the surrounding smaller markets are covered is tantamount to building a network everyone wants to be on.

Here’s the list in full:

  • Bakersfield, CA
  • Bridgeport/Stamford/Norwalk, CT
  • El Centro, CA
  • Hot Springs, AR
  • Kenosha, WI
  • Lancaster, PA
  • Mason City, IA
  • Myrtle Beach, SC
  • Nogales, AZ
  • Ocean City, NJ
  • Omaha, NE
  • Peoria, IL
  • Provo/Orem, UT
  • Sarasota/Bradenton, FL
  • Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA
  • Shawnee, OK
  • Trenton/Ewing, NJ
  • Visalia/Porterville, CA
  • Willimantic, CT
  • Zanesville, OH

That brings the amount of cities up to 402 in all, and puts Sprint well on their way to their goal of covering 250 million people by the middle of the year. It’ll take a bit longer for all of these cities to get the latest Sprint Spark network upgrades, though, which brings faster and more reliable 4G LTE coverage on Sprint’s 700MHz spectrum.

To date, only 18 different markets have coverage, though Sprint is regularly adding more as time rolls on. As for today’s launches, be sure to fire up your 4G-capable phone to test out the new network if you’re in any of these markets.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

    1. I’m in Dowagiac,Mi I notice the same thing. wtf?

      1. They;re rolling out upgrades at a very fast rate. It seems as if they are constantly working on their towers.

      2. I live in Livonia, MI and their map is completely false and they are sending false 4G LTE signals to my Galaxy S4. I can only manage to get up to 2.5 Mbps at my house, 2 Mbps at my dads, and 4-5 Mbps at my moms house. They have very weak and very false coverage.

  2. *800MHz not 700…but I’m sure you knew that ;)

Sprint, where unlimited garbage still means you’re getting garbage.
Instead of improving their network they lease it out to prepaid providers, further hampering their already weak network.

    1. pretty much sums up the last 4 yrs ..t mobiles hspa was perfectly fine 4g speeds tht i never had a problem with and they rolled out lte flawlessly i have lte from nyc to the hamptons and hspa42 anywhere i lose lte which is basically yhr same thing

  4. Curious that Sprint beat AT&T to Myrtle Beach and they are definitely besting T-Mobile in LTE deployments.

Who knows… hell freezing over with Sprint being a viable carrier??

  5. really horrifying that after 4 years with a “4g” phone my gf has yet to get 4g speeds ever on long island …meanwhile i have had then since ny mytouch 4g in 09?? t mobile

  6. Finally Myrtle Beach. Now I don’t have to struggle to use my phone at the beach.

  7. Sprint treas people like $#it I’m glad they cancelled my order cut to a past bill. I was about to pay back the old bill and give them a shot but then they really pissed me off. In the mean time I was switching all my family’s phones to straight talk. While calling sprint for the unlock code two reps told me I had to go to a store to get it. I went to a store and the store rep tried to help but told me the computer would not let him do that to call customer care. I called them they once again told me to go to a store. I told them I was in a sprint store. They asked to speak to the store rep and yelled at him for allowing me to call in. Then they were just a$$holes on the phone so I asked the bit@# her name she cussed me out and hung up. Yeah sprint way to treat a potential customer that is exactly how you gain new ones. Sprint is a joke. By the way the old bill is from me leaving without paying the etf because of customer service.

  8. Sprint needs to add haines city florida

  9. still not announced for here, though considering i get 2mb+ on 3g now, i’m guessing it’s quite close
