Have a Nexus 5? Official CyanogenMod cases now available

CyanogenMod Case

CyanogenMod fans rejoice. If you happen to have a Nexus 5, you can now get your official CyanogenMod case from none other than Cruzerlite. The Cruzerlite official CM cases are made of TPU, which is more cut and tear resistant than what you’ll find in a rubber case. TPU cases are abrasion resistant, have a high degree of transparency, are fairly stiff, but remain flexible.

The official CM cases come in teal, clear, smoke, and black; colors you’d expect from the CM Team and were designed buy CM community member Asher Simonds. To get a little more Cid in your life, you can order these cases for your Nexus 5 from Cruzerlite’s official online store: Teal, Clear, Smoke, and Black.

Enjoy CM fans!

haha everyone I know dislikes them after they became a company. although they still have their loyal customers.

I disliked them before they became a company :)

        • Henri Conradie

I disliked comments about disliking things before it was cool. Lololol.

And this is why you’re an awesome human being.

        • NYCHitman1

Agreed. I never saw the hype surrounding their work. This is in no way disrespectful to them and their cause, but the lack of customization is what always kept me away. Plus, the fact that they moved away from using AOSP source in favor of patches from CAF, which ended up breaking a lot of things.

    No naked lady cases?

Those are being saved for the AOKP case line :P

Careful… if you put the case on your camera won’t work and you may have random reboots. You’ll have to wait for Nightlies 17 to release to wear this case.

    • Gideon Waxfarb

      Well played, sir :)

    • Roaduardo

I tried wiping Dalvik after installing the case but my Gmail app still wont sync…

*if you put the case on (COMMA) your camera won’t work

can’t really out the whole case just on your camera, you right?

The Note 3 version of that case sucked, so I returned it. The buttons wobbled; was too slippery; and it bulged a bit. Incipio’s Dualpro is still the best case I’ve yet encountered (for S3, and now Note3)

    Where can i download them?

Most of the rooting and and Roms I ever needed were important until the Nexus line got stronger.. I don’t see the need for it much anymore.

    • snapper.fishes

Not even for custom quick toggle? I find it very useful to be able to turn the flashlight on using quick toggle.

    • A_Noyd

I switched from the stock ROM on my Nexus 5 to the Cataclysm ROM, and the bricked kernel. Much faster than the stock ROM. Plus extended power menu. customs toggles, the usual. But it is quit stable, very fast, and great battery life.

      • Alex higs

I’m on stock, rooted. I usually install a custom ROM to get back to stock android, but since the nexus 5 comes with stock android, most of the minor customizations the app wanam kit can do (Battery percentage, power menus etc) were enough for me.

  • David Gray

Now just remember that you’re ONLY ALLOWED to buy & use this case on your Nexus 5 if you’ve had the balls enough to ROOT your phone and flash CM on it otherwise STAY AWAY POSERS!!!!! Hahahahahaha LOL I’m totally kidding but what another BIG day for the Cm Team!!!

I honestly can’t get over all of the hate in the comments for CyanogenMod. Jesus Christ, a bunch of programmers and Android code geeks are living their dream. They’re hoping to continue to revolutionize the mobile industry. They can’t do that unless they become organized.

Agreed, and possibly have their own dedicated hardware where everything is guaranteed to work.

    • meijin3

Me neither. I was happy for them and I was using Paranoid Android.

  • Johnny Fever

Team CyanogenFreakingMod. Awesomeness. Always loved their work.
