It’s never too soon to start your holiday shopping. Those of you looking for a deal on the hottest 7-inch tablet on the planet, the Nexus 7 (2013) has been slashed on both Amazon and Newegg to just $240 (32GB version). That’s about $30 off the sticker price of the tab in the Play Store.

Looks like this newly discounted price applies only to the 32GB version, with the 16GB model sticking to its guns at $230. Avoid the long lines at your local store and get them with free shipping from either retailer (2-day shipping with Amazon Prime). Links below.

  1. If I would have known how bad the touch screen issues were with these things, I never would have bought mine. Its a struggle to type on mine.

    1. I heard that 4.4 fixed that!

    2. I am thrilled to say that 4.4 fixed the severe touchscreen issues my N7 was having. Mine was a very early production model and it had issues from day one. So if it can be fixed with a single software update, I would imagine that any other units with similar issues can be fixed as well.

      1. Aha, I haven’t upgraded to KitKat yet since pa hasn’t put out 4.4 yet. That’ll be good.

        1. I tried out the “Shiny Rom” Kitkat build for the Galaxy Nexus and it was pretty sweet, but there were too many graphical issues to keep using it at this point so I reverted to 4.3. Though when PA or Cyan get their hands on it (and if they make a rom for the GNex) you can bet I’ll be upgrading.

          1. Unfortunately Tablet UI is gone from kitkat, so I’ll either not update or I’ll have to deal with pie (which I don’t like that much).

    3. Are you serious? Never had an issue on mine. I think it’s the best tablet I’ve ever used. It’s truly a joy.

      1. Yup, I’m serious. I’d agree with you in every way if it wasnt an issue.

  2. Your welcome!

    1. Appreciate it, man. :)

    2. My welcome what?

  3. This doesn’t make sense…how the is 32GB only $10 more than the 16GB???

    1. flash storage isn’t that expensive

      1. Then why do OEM’s use it as an excuse to mark up devices by $50? :P

        1. Because the majority of people are sadly unaware that it’s cheaper to make solid state drives than it is to make mechanical hard drives. So long as the general public is unaware that flash storage is cheaper, manufacturers will try to milk them for all their worth.

          1. I would say if they don’t add a microSD slot then they can charge what they like. It’s a very Apple mentality.

      2. True..I’m thinking SSD which is costly but ya flash not so much. Ehh…I’m still happy with my 16GB Nexus 7 2013 WITH 4.4 as of last night I might add!!!

  4. has verizon started to support this yet for the 4g device?

    1. Not that I’m aware of, however if you can get your hands on a pre-activated 4G LTE Sim card (borrow somebody’s cellular iPad?) it does work. Verizon just sucks…

  5. And just bout this from amazon thanks to this post! Thanks!

  6. Any word on the new nexus 10?

  7. $229.99 at Microcenter but in-store purchase only. http://www.microcenter.com/product/417434/Google_Nexus_7_FHD_-_Black

  8. This is good, but what they REALLY need to do is slash the bezel :P

  9. Nice, but I’m waiting on an 8″ tablet better than the recent samsung fail, or that other one I can’t remember the name of. A 7″ tab is just a tad too small after upgrading to a 5.7″ phablet.

  10. On 11/21 at around 4:35pm in Chicago IL. I have received my 4.4 OTA update and my Nexus 7 2013 is FLYING!
