Google Nexus 5 commercial: “I Do”

33

We are all running around the office like there is no tomorrow! The Nexus 5 has just become available for purchase, KitKat is out of the bag and we can’t wait to have our hands all over Google’s new phone! We have to stop for a bit and take a breath after all this excitement, and what better way to do it than watching Google’s first commercial for the Nexus 5?

The commercial is simple. It starts with a lady asking Google Now to show her her wedding photos. Does this mean that Gogole Now will work with Google+’s new features? Probably so. Google Now will probably take the photos automatically categorized by Google+, and throw all the memories at you.

More details on KitKat are coming, guys! Stay tuned and enjoy the video. So tell me… WHO IS BUYING?!

  1. Id love to show this video to my wife in hopes that she might want one, but instead she will probably bother me about our wedding

    1. LMAO

    2. Lol double edged sword

    3. Apologies to my beautiful wife who just saw my comment and said I was more excited about the release of this damn phone than I was about our wedding. Love you babe

      1. Sounds like you need to use google now to find the nearest florist….and a kitkat.

      2. Oh, poop.

      3. !!!

  2. Google now has been able to search your photos for along time now.

    1. Do you mean with a Nexus device? I have the Note 2 and, unless I am missing something, it wouldn’t work.

      1. Do you have auto backup to G+ enabled?

        1. No I don’t so maybe that is the issue? I will play with this and see if I can get it to work. I use my phone for work so that would be killer if I could ask Google to open a specific google doc file. Glad to see that Google continues to push forward with Google Now and add soooo many killer features…WOO HOO!

      2. You would have to have auto backup enabled or it would only search the photos that you have uploaded to G+.

  3. I’m going to propose to this device when I get it on Saturday
    Ahhhh butterflies

    1. Ha still way cheaper than actually getting married

      1. $1800 for our wedding with 36 people and luncheon, or 4 32GB N5’s with taxes. Decisions, decisions…..

        1. $1800 is cheap. I thought we did it cheap at ~$4000

  4. i like that they cover all types of marriage. kudos on not being afraid to offend.

    1. At 0:09, there’s what appears to be a mixed-racial, homosexual couple. Google, you win. Bravo.

      1. yup, i saw the same…covered the gamut, and not in a veiled ‘we’re doing it cuz we have to but not really’ way. im pretty conservative and i love this.

        1. Nexus spreads love not hate

    2. The only thing about that part that was offensive was that they had to go to a governmental body to get a “license.” :) Libertarian minarchist checking in yo!

  5. Very good advert.

  6. Hmmm just might have to start organizing my photos on Google+ for that cool feature!

  7. Ordered and confirmed over here in Canada! 16GB for me.

  8. Gonna wait on this until I hear more on battery performance and possible first batch issues. Will get one later this year.

  9. Me!!!

  10. Christmas can’t get here soon enough lol

    1. Watch as everyone’s credit ratings get destroyed with all the new stuff coming out this winter.

    2. Well, Chanuka is coming on around Thanksgiving this year so I don’t have to wait so long :)

      1. Are all of the presents supposed to be of around the same value, or do they increment up or down? (Is day 12 the “best” present, or something?)

      2. Lucky!

  11. This implies some mighty big promises for the camera.
1> The low light shooting is good/great
2> the OIS is really good (see the hopping woman taking shots)
3> Photosphere has gotten better (KitKat thing, not a camera thing, but still)
4> The focus is hella fast (Again, see the hopping woman)

Hopefully, it lives up to all of the Hype they just generated. A Nexus with a GREAT camera would be a first, and a welcome one at that.

    1. Yes. I was thinking that too. And I was also seeing a steroscope feature, the gif-like picture the kid took of the elder lady.
