Angry Birds Go! all but confirmed as a kart racer [VIDEO]

Angry Birds developer Rovio took to their blog today to release some new details on their upcoming title, the recently announced, Angry Birds Go!. From the looks of it, it appears as if Rovio is planing to bring their iconic birds into the kart racing genre, as suggested in a quirky, behind the scenes video they uploaded to their YouTube channel.

With some help from Redbull, the video shows off real-life Angry Birds, launching a cart down a race track to disastrous results. If we let our imaginations run wild, we’re thinking the title could blend some of the build-your-own-contraption elements of Bad Piggies with the tried-and-true formula of Mario Kart. In any case, our interests are definitely piqued.

Even with the recently announced Angry Birds Star Wars 2 (launching on September 19th), there could be a few mobile gamers out there who feel the traditional bird flinging gameplay has grown stale over the years. Spinoffs like Go! might be exactly what Rovio needs to do to keep things fresh, while appealing to new audiences. Lord knows the Google Play Store could use less endless runners and more good old fashioned kart racers!

  1. As much as I’m starting to hate the Angry Birds franchise, I would love to see a Mario-Kart-like multiplayer game for Android.

    1. Too bad the real guys (Nintendo) won’t give us that stuff =

I hope this is better than I think it’ll be.

      1. I’m sure current flagship phones are in par with the old Wii’s graphics, so if Nintendo can release their classic games (Mario Party, Mario Kart, etc.), they would seriously have a winner. I wouldn’t mind spending $10 on games like that.

      2. That DS Emulator, though. LoL!!

    2. Angry Birds never gets old for me. I really want to play Angry Birds Star Wars 2
