Motorola tempts smartphone buyers with $50 Google Play gift card

11

If you’re in the market for a new smartphone, plenty of options abound. The recently announced HTC One, a new lineup from LG, and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 account for only a few of the many new devices worth checking out. But one company having a quiet beginning to the new year is hoping to lure customers their way with a special offer. Now through March 4th, Motorola will give anyone buying one of their handsets a $50 Google Play gift card.

The deal extends to such devices as the Droid RAZR family (including the RAZR M and RAZR MAXX HD), older devices like the Atrix 2 and Droid 4, as well as lower-end fare such as the Electrify and Defy XT. To receive their gift card, however, new owners must complete a mail-in form, meaning if you are in search of instant gratification, better to look elsewhere. But when the gift card does arrive, that’s plenty of dough to fill out a newly purchased smartphone with apps, games, music, books, and more.

  1. More like suckers a bunch of un knowledgeable chumps out of hard earned money to clear their inventory right before the X release.

    1. oh come on all companies do this. They drop prices or offer incentives to lower inventory prior to a release. is this your first dance away from mommy?

  2. Motorola tempts me more with the X Phone than a $50 gift card. But I guess they wanna dispose old inventory.

    2. Same here…. a big F.U. to Motorola

  4. no. never again motorola. i buy Atrix 4G and after 9 months motorola canceled ICS

    1. Well, the Atrix and G2X are what made Moto and LG so (in)famous afterall.

Though, I believe LG did Eventually release an ICS kernel for the Optimus 2X for custom ROM makers to use.

  5. I would do this. I would get the Motorola Photon Q, but I have yet to read anything about Jellybean and I’m loving Jellybean on my E4GT. And developer support is low on the Photon Q and I don’t know anything about making ROMs.

  6. I had been considering getting a Motorola droid for a while. I read loads of reviews and this one was great http://search4reviews.net/ , I got my package last week and am very happy. I Would highly recommend to anyone still unsure,
