By A big spotlight still rests on Sony’s head as it prepares to launch the biggest flagship smartphone in the company’s history — the Sony Xperia Z — but it looks like another device might be in the works for an eventual launch later this year. An HTML5 user agent for one Sony C6802 has been spotted, and it details a device that will have a 1080p HD display and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
That’s about all we know about it at this point, but we assume it will exist somewhere along the high-end side of the spectrum judging by that high resolution display. We’d guess that the C6802’s specs will read something like the Sony Xperia Z’s tale of the tape, which includes a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon Pro, 2GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel camera, and more. It’s not polite to assume, though, so we’ll stop right there.
Of course, there’s a possibility that this user agent might not even be real so there’s only so much we can speculate on. While we await something more concrete and full of details, we’ll continue to be jealous of our friends over in France — those folks have already gotten the chance to snap up Sony’s Xperia Z, and the rest of the world has no choice but to look on in eagerness and anticipation as we await its arrival elsewhere

Come on, be reasonable. They have to entice readers one way or another. Wired.com uses straight LIES in their titles, so a question mark here or there is tolerable from Phandroid; At least they don’t lie in the titles.
I think the S4 Pro, 2gb ram and 1080 is the 2013 standard. It makes it sound kind of average. The difference will be the software.

Its going to be a Samsung Note competitor.
Seeing all the other companys are releasing Note competitors its logical for Sony to also do it (seeing the Note sells so wel).
We already know what the normal high end devices wil be (Xperia Z and ZL) and we already know the specs of the 2 devices that wil fall below those the C530X and C550x both having 720p screens.
And there have been rumors of a 6inch device from Sony with a 1080p screen and 2GB of ram.
So it would only be logical for the C6802 to be this 6 inch screen device to compete with the Note. The jump in device ID is to large for it to be a regional version of the Z or ZL in my opinion.
I am afraid I will agree with you, though my hopes are on a Xperia Nexus phone.
The last Sony phone I had was a walkman flip phone.
