The Simpsons: Tapped Out is a city-building game set in iconic Springfield

22

You might have heard that an official Simpsons game was headed to Android this week, but that game has long been unavailable for download. We’re not sure what happened with initial availability, but all of those issues seem to have been cleared up and EA is now offering it in the Google Play Store. Named The Simpsons: Tapped Out, it’s a city-building game that is set in Springfield and features all your favorite characters and buildings from the show.

Your primary responsibility is none other than Homer Simpson, and it’s up to you to help him find the rest of his family and friends all throughout the city. Tasks you complete will net you doughnuts, natch, and you can use them to help you build things like the Duff Brewery, Apu’s Kwik-E-Mart, Lard Lad Donuts and more.

It won’t cost you a dime to be thrust into the Simpsons universe on your phone or tablet so be sure to download it right away. Nostalgia alone was enough to get me excited, but it turns out the game is pretty damn fun. Give it a shot in the Google Play Store, and try not to be too mean to Ned while you go about your business.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. Simp city hahaha

  2. Not available in your country (Belgium).

    1. There is a non American version on the play store. I’d try that one.

  3. This game has been available on iOS for quite some time.

    1. Huge choice of devices along with an extremely customizable OS. OR an ugly brick with screen size issues and a limited OS and first cracked at mildly entertaining apps that will be uninstalled within a week or two.

      Hmmm. Really tough decision.

      1. Don’t forget the new panorama mode they got last year!

Even though we had that on Android for quite a while.

        1. We should sue Apple for adding panorama to their phone. WE HAD IT FIRST!

          1. We should sue them for the notification bar as well!

A lot of people are so brainwashed by Apple they will believe anything Apple says. When I was out with a group of friends we wanted to go to this new bar so I took my phone out (LG Optimus One) and looked up the bar on Google maps so then I knew where we had to go. However one of my friends says “how can you use maps, that’s not an iPhone…”

        2. but they were the first to show it in a commercial! they’ll be awarded the patent for so doing… cheeeeeeeeeeeeeee *gasp* eeese.

    2. I thought this game sounded familiar. My friend was telling me about it one day (he has the game on his iPad mini) and he was saying it’s really fun. But doughnuts are hard to get!

  4. Gonna download, loved the Simpsons when I was younger

  5. Apparently this is not available in the UK :P

    wooo…..

  6. Eh it’s not available in Australia yet :/

  7. Seems not to work with the Bionic, but I am finding more and more that is not.

    1. Also beware, uses a constant stream of data, not sure how much.

  8. I hate these energy type of “games”.

  9. The Simps! Oh EA…you cheeky bastards! Way to sell out

  10. Add me raul-haak

  11. Well it’sThe Simpson’s which I love, and It’s Sim City which I love, But it’s EA which I hate, and it’s New Simpson’s which I hate. Glad it’s free because I would have never tried it otherwise.

  12. I was excited about this until I found out it doesn’t connect to Origin like the iVersion.
Translation – My months of progress on my iPad won’t mean squat on my phone.

  13. I played it for a while on my iPad, but eventually you have to put insane ammounts of money in it if you want to get anywhere, that’s when I deleted the sucker.
I’d rather pay a straight up fee at the beginning rather than internal transactions
