The Android Overload is where we feature the biggest news stories from through out the day (see above video), as well as stash all of the stories/articles/news bits that didn’t make it onto our front page. But just because they weren’t featured doesn’t mean they aren’t worth taking a look at. In fact, there’s almost always a little something here for everyone. So, take a look around and let us know what you think.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  1. I’d give my left nut to work at Google…

    1. The requirements to work at Google are nuts. I’ve heard all sorts of things like solving algebra problems in the middle of interviews and IQ tests before you can even apply…

      1. So Google discriminates against women?

        1. I guess 7 people didn’t get your joke.

          1. or seven women weren’t amused lol

          2. Seven women will remind you of this comment when you least expect it, probably years later.

  2. I thought Verizon acquired them alltel awhile back this makes my head hurt

    1. Verizon did, with exceptions. I can’t remember the exact details, but it seems like due to antimonopoly laws or something like that there were certain areas where Verizon couldn’t purchase Alltel out of.

  3. Verizon should get some of that Alltel deal back if AT&T can buy them out right.

  4. Wow……THE GALAXY S 2 EVEN HAS JELLYBEAN BEFORE MY ONE X. This is ridiculous at&t!!!!!!

    1. That’s the phone manufacturer’s fault, not the fault of the carrier.

      1. how is it not the fault of the carrier? Every other iteration of the One X has jelly bean.

      2. It’s the carriers fault. They take their time bloating it up.

    2. I thought they dished out the update already bro.. you sure you didn’t just miss the announcement?

  5. the iphone is the next blackberry

  6. That SFGate article about Apple losing it’s grip on the moble market is full of mis-information:

“Samsung and Google had already released “phablets,” as these small tablets with screens between 5 and 7 inches are known.”
    — Phablets are Tablets between 5 and 7 inches. Really? I thought they were 5+ inch PHONES?

“Manufacturers like HTC, Nokia and Samsung do not want to develop and maintain their own operating systems, so they take the code from Google.”
    — I LOL’d at Nokia taking code from Google. Maybe this is foreshadowing what’s to come?

  7. I feel sorry for the poor Alltell customers. When Verizon bought out most of Alltell and acquired me as a customer, the shut down a bunch of towers in the area, that was once providing good service. Now in some spots I’m left with searching of service. Hopefully the same does not go for these customers being moved to ATT

  8. After the verizon deal, most of alltel went to att already, now they just buying the rest
