Samsung Galaxy Muse now available from Samsung.com

A quick update to a story from earlier in the week. The Galaxy Muse, which appeared on Samsung’s website as the US version of the International S Pebble, is now available for purchase. The music player companion device for Samsung’s Galaxy line of phones sells for $49.99 (though the attached press release says $59.99 Update: Samsung has since released a corrected version) and comes in matching Marble White and Pebble Blue color schemes.

A free Muse Sync app is available from the Google Play Store and allows for easy syncing of music between your smartphone and the Muse player, completely circumventing a PC connection. Of course, we still say its easier to just plug your headphones into your phone.

SAMSUNG MOBILE LAUNCHES GALAXY MUSE – PORTABLE AND POWERFUL MUSIC ACCESSORY

New device expands Galaxy sharing capabilities with music management directly from a smartphone

DALLAS — December 7, 2012 — Samsung Telecommunications America, LLC (Samsung Mobile) – the No.1 mobile phone provider in the United States and a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the No. 1 smartphone provider worldwide1 – is giving Galaxy™ smartphone users in the United States an amazing new way to enjoy music on the go called Galaxy Muse™. Coupled with the Muse Sync Android™ app, Samsung is providing Galaxy S® III and Galaxy Note® II owners an innovative new way of syncing music that frees them from their PC2.

Galaxy Muse is a small, lightweight MP3 player that shares several physical features and design aesthetics with the latest Galaxy smartphones, including a rounded, natural design and matching Pebble Blue and Marble White color scheme. In addition, Galaxy Muse provides users up to six hours of play time, 4 GB of memory, and rich, spacious sound quality thanks to Samsung SoundAlive® optimized audio technology. With SoundAlive, users notice deeper bass and enhanced tone when listening to their favorite songs, as SoundAlive intelligently adjusts sound quality and clarity.

Users can get their music on the Galaxy Muse by simply downloading the Muse Sync app from the Google Play™ marketplace or Samsung Apps. After connecting Galaxy Muse to the Galaxy S III or Galaxy Note II via the included connector cable (USB to 3.5mm headset jack), users can sync the songs they want and leave their phone behind. Due to its wearable design and small form factor, users can take Muse along in place of their smartphone as a portable music player at the gym or on the go. Galaxy Muse also comes equipped with a durable, built-in clip for attaching the device to a shirt or pocket, so it’s wearable and offers the convenience of hands-free listening. Within this compact and clean design, Muse offers enough capacitive controls to become a user’s primary music player. Skip, shuffle, pause, or go back and listen to your favorite song again and again.

“The Galaxy Muse expands the Samsung Galaxy product portfolio to offer music on-the-go in a compact and lightweight player, with songs shared directly from our award-winning smartphones,” said Kevin Packingham, chief product officer at Samsung Mobile. “Muse is the latest example of Samsung delivering another outlet for content consumption across the entire spectrum of consumer electronics.”

Galaxy Muse is available in Pebble Blue and MarbleWhite for $49.99 at Samsung.com. The Samsung Muse Sync mobile application is available free from Samsung Apps and the Google Play marketplace. 1. So tired of Samsung and their naming scheme…..

  2. I dont see the point to this honestly

  3. FYI: The 50% accessory discount that they have going for the samsung website still applies to the muse. AWESOME!

    1. what the promo code?

      1. Goto http://www.samsung.com, register your Samsung phone device and they send you the promo code within 5 minutes. I would give you the code but don’t want everyone using the one generated for me. lol.

        1. Thanks

  4. Sigh.

  5. If around fifty percent of androids run on gingerbread, why do newer products insist on not supporting it.

    1. Sorry bud. get with the time.

    2. Because this only connects to the Galaxy S III or Galaxy Note II anyway.

  6. those headphones look super uncomfortable

  7. This might be pretty useful for me. I work outside and listen to music all day. Instead keeping my phone in my shirt pocket, I can keep it safer in my pants pocket. It’s nice to have the controls right at your finger tips without having go into your phone. Are those the earbuds that come with it?

  8. Are those headphones in the shape of the new iphone headphones? Goddammit Samsung!

  9. It depends on the person. I have the Galaxy note II which is awesome and I love it for everyday use. However, it is not practical to use at the gym for intense workouts. I bought this so that I can do my sprints and heavy lifts without running with my phablet.I have the access to change up my playlist on the go without accessing my computer as well. So for me this is the perfect device. For those who do not exercise or workout after work or on the go there may not be a purpose for it. Depends on the person.
