iPhone 5: The Lulz Don’t Stop [Humor]

The iPhone 5…. Where do I start? Well, let’s just point out the fact that it’s single biggest selling point is arguably its 4-inch screen. Apple says it will give users a whole new row of icons. Running with that, the internet has risen to the occasion, successfully predicting every iteration of the iPhone from here on out. Ever. It never gets old, folks.

          Enjoy your iPhone
The undercover story by the Shanghai Evening Post reporter
paints a grim picture. About workers’ living quarters, he writes, “The
whole dormitory smells like garbage when I walk in.” He adds that when
he opened his closet, “lots of cockroaches crawl out from inside and the
bed sheets that are being distributed to every new workers are full of
dirt and ashes.” His job at the factory: marking four spots on the
back plate of an iPhone 5 with an oil-based paint pen. The marks had to
be within 5 millimeters of the designated points and he was expected
to complete five plates every minute. Supervisors repeatedly
reprimanded the journalist for failing to place the marks accurately.

The journalist’s all-night shift lasted 10 hours with only one break
for dinner at 11pm. When the shift ended at 6 AM, supervisors exhorted
the workers to put in two hours of overtime, for a wage of just $4. The
journalist describes a worker who couldn’t take the pressure: “A new
worker who sat opposite me became exhausted and laid down for a short
while,” he writes. “The supervisor has noticed him and punished him by
asking him to stand at one corner for 10 minutes like the old school

The reason why most Android powered handsets are made out of plastic or metal is the same reason why the iPhone 5 doesn’t have a glass back cover like the 4 and 4S did…because when you drop an Android smartphone, the case doesn’t shatter.

  • abu69

“You see we’re able to add a 5th row of icons.” – Tim CooCoo (CEO!) wow really?!

    • toomuchgame441

Just terrible, because all the users really needed that 5th row right?

      • Apple Empire

As a matter fact we do need the 5th row!

          • a) youth.in.asia

It’s because Android users like choice, think logically and don’t need to be brain washed to like a product. I like the galaxy note because it’s great for the screen real estate, you have almost everything you would want in a tablet in a phone as well. I don’t need to buy two overpriced devices

          • abu69

no logic there A.youth….once brainwashed by s.jobs/tim coocoo theres no turning back. trust me. (again

        • abu69

exactly! i can 5th 6th 100th row if i wanted too on my androidrizzle. you need to wait for apple to allow you an extra row…sigh FUNNY.

      • r121

Someone’s post will address that, because 5 means 5 inches and 6 means 6 inches. Size does matter.

        • toomuchgame441

          That’s what she said

    • DarkRain

Now I finally know why it is called the iphone 5 – 5 rows of icons! Of course!

    Thanks for the laughs.

This blows my theory. I made an image of an iPhone 8 last night, with 8 rows of icons! I guess I was being to conservative. :p

      • Marsg

I think I can out innovate apple, hear me out, how about instead of 1 new row of icons they add 2 >.> seriously whats better then a whole new row of icons but 2 new row of icons, wait something just came to mind, how the hell they going to get wallpapers for that thing. Huston we have a problem.

    More lulz
iPhone 5 may need third antenna for simultaneous voice-data
The new device isn’t capable of supporting simultaneous voice and data on
4G LTE in Sprint and Verizon’s networks, but it would be if it had
    another antenna.

    • tomn1ce

That’s how much they think about their sheeps that they decided not to incorporate the 3rd antenna for this function…but most likely will put it in the iphone 5S and claim that its revolutionary…The iphone 5S the first LTE device to let you use simultaneous voice and data…

    • Apple Empire

I must recognize they did sort of ate it on that one right there, but it won’t stop the millions of ppl from those networks buying it and loving it.

Apple’s dock connector change is awful, don’t kid yourselves
Apple’s decision to use a smaller dock connector instead of Micro-USB is
consumer-unfriendly, bad for the environment, and offers few, if any,
    obvious tech benefits.

    • http://www.colossaldamage.com/ SuperMarino

You know, I like the new Lightning connector. I think it has real potential. Plus it looks better than the USB 3.0 Micro USB port. The biggest downside is it has 0% chance of becoming a standard, because Apple won’t let it. If neither Micro USB or Lightning was a standard now, and they were being presented to become the new standard, I can’t imagine many people would pick Micro USB over Lightning.

      • Daniel Rosseau

I didn’t know people cared about how their chargers looked…And your point about people that would pick lightning over usb is irrelevant…..usb is everywhere. The only lightning benefit is it fits in either way….is it really that hard to put your phone in the right way? It was just another way for apple to make more money by selling special cords.

        • https://plus.google.com/108596272537415356460/posts Jason Farrell

“is it really that hard to put your phone in the right way?”

          For Apple-tards… apparently it is.

    • jbo1018

If I was an iphone user this would probably keep me from buying it. All my accessories would be incompatible. Well unless I wanted to shell out more money for an adapted for each one, but or else keep switching a single one around which kind of defeats the purpose of simplicity. Yeah, any company who doesn’t use micro usb is a money grubbing douche.

Tim Cook: You all remember the iPhone 5 when we revolutionized the smartphone and added 5 rows of icons… Well we’re doing it again. Now introducing The iPhone 10 with 15 rows of icons. No longer will you have to flip through pages and pages of apps. Now your 160 apps just fit and on only 2 pages. No longer will you have to flip through all the many pages of apps to get to the app you want. It’s just right there.

I am pretty excited to see the first ARM 15 phone. I’m curious to see if all the touted speed improvements are true and what the real world performance is like.

    • http://profiles.google.com/bcdurden Brian Durden

Highly doubtful it is A15. Besides the Snapdragon S4 available in seemingly every phone today has A15-based Krait cores. And yes, they are faster than the Tegra3 and the Exynos 4412 (other than the GPU – the Mali400MP is nasty fast).

  • Eye4Detail

And of course, apps written for the previous version will appear in a letterbox format in the center of the screen….BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

    • Eye4Detail

On a serious note, does that mean apps written for the iPhone 5 will render as tall, skinny apps with black bars down each side on the previous models?

      • Giles Peach

Good point. The letter box format is a huge phail on Apples’ part. In all honesty I was very surprised as I was expecting some sort of wizadry. Perhaps they could put some soft buttons in the space at the bottom…. like, I don’t know….. a back, menu, and search button.

        • TofuWarrior

Get out of here with your suggestion that they do something sensible and take another page out of Android’s book.

      • vioalas

I’m sure Apple will make apple devs go through the trouble of making apps in two sizes now. What is that… Fragmentation!? But that NEVER happens.

        • ari_free

Tim Cook: “One thing is that we’re not fragmented. Look at the percentage of users who upgraded to iOS 5. We have one App Store. We have one phone with one screen size, one resolution. So it’s pretty simple if you’re a developer.”

        • a) youth.in.asia

Fragmentation only happens on Android, it’s called iFragmentation on iOS. Almost along the same lines as rooting and jailbreaking

          • No_Nickname90

What is fragmentation? Is it related to just devices upgrading or apps being able to run on the device? Because there are only a handful of apps that say “jelly bean only” and those apps are like beta apps for ROMs and stuff.

The iPhone 5 is supposedly causing fragmentation. So does that mean apps won’t work on it correctly? That means fragmentation is app related, meaning Android doesn’t have it. I am thoroughly confused.

People like you keep them in business, but honestly, I don’t care one way or another. Eventually, no one will care about the iPhone – w/o Jobs, the company is bound to fail.

First take a look at this link http://isource.com/2012/09/13/people-love-the-new-iphone-5-even-when-its-actually-an-iphone-4s/ then tell me how being a nerd is worse then being the average uneducated isheep that buys the “new” iPhone with last year’s Android specs…seriously they added a fifth row with a slight increase in the overall hardware

    • IronHorse01

Oh really?? A slight increase in overal hardware? The processor is nice twice as fast as the 4s and so are the graphics, that’s a slight improvement ? Lmao the camera got a heck of a lot better plus everything else, come on don’t let your fanboyism blind you man

      • Adam Marks

It’s a shame, then, that such an improvement still leaves it significantly lacking in the current generation of smartphones. Apple could have done a lot more with this device – everyone knows it, including such rabid fanboys as yourself. Just admit it.

      • supremekizzle

Yeah, twice as fast as the 4s, but let’s try comparing it to the tech in android phones being released right now shall we?

        • IronHorse01

I’d say it will fare pretty well, the 4s matches the gs2 pretty well as far as speed goes it even opens the majority of apps quicker (no bloat and no skins make a difference) so I’m sure the 5 will be a huge difference and will fair just as well if not better

        • Apple Empire

It doesn’t matter how fast are those android phones they all look like plastic low quality crap.iPhone 5 looks bad ass, feel bad ass, and its fazt-az-fak

          • supremekizzle

The 5 might be fazt-az-fak, but i wouldn’t know what that means because I speak English and all… And by the way, plastic can definitely feel premium. I know that if my current phone was made of aluminum it would be scratched and dented badly. However, it’s in remarkably good condition.

      • Robert Jakiel

Slightly larger screen w/ same PPI. SAME camera as 4S with some software tweaks, same memory. The SoC has yet to be confirmed a Cortex A15 based unit. Until someone gets their hands on the hardware and IDs the chip it is still up in the air.

        • IronHorse01

Slightly larger screen with same ppi but also they tweaked giving it better color saturation, also it uses in cell technology they removed 1 layer of screen, a a result the screen and colors look even better. The improvements to the camera are not only on the software, hardware too, the actual lens is made from a different material plus the aperture is bigger takes great shots on the dark as a result. The processor yeah the jury is still out, however in the past they have been pretty accurate with their claims, do I have no reason to think it will be any different this time

          • Apple Empire

I agree with you IronHorse01. The improvements in the iPhone 5 are extremely amazing in my own opinion. I own personally the 4S and love it… can’t wait to get hands on the best iPhone yet (5) :-). The improvements in the camera are amazing plus the A6 Processor.

      • Evan Murphy

When are you gonna understand this…unless Apple sues everyone out of existence, they’re are gonna fall behind the rest of the tech world. They have very few friends, their prodigy has passed on to a better place, and let’s face it, they are starting to lose customers with their aggressive tactics. No one likes to see a respected company stoop as low as Apple has. They sue everyone they can because of silly and ridiculous patents. I will admit, i believe Samsung should have came up with a completely unique design. But seriously, do you really think people confused the Iphone with the Samsung Galaxy S? For example, if I walk up and try to sell you a SGS posed as an Iphone you’d laugh in my face then proceed to walk on by.

And I apologize for my error earlier, you are right about the Iphone 5 being an improvement over the 4S. But stacked next to today’s smartphones specs, even some Windows Phones beat it to the punch. The Iphone 5 just does not have the specs to compete on hardware and software alone. Apple sells phones through brand loyalty and customers inability to venture askew from what they know.

So again, no disrespect to anyone who owns an Iphone or any other Apple product. That is your decision and your decision alone. My opinion is based on what I read from both sides of this ridiculous phone war.

  • malcmilli

The iphone feels nice in your hands, n has a lovely design, but the advantage of a high qualityplastic is it’s durability. these plastic devices handle drops a lot better. Which is important when iPhone isn’t covered by insurance.

    • rumanuu76

To be honest I never liked the feel of the iphone 4 in my hand. I thought the edges were too sharp. I loved the iphone 3gs and I love the feel of the galaxy s3 as well.

Even my daughter who loves iphones said that the galaxy s3 feels much nicer to hold. I think by the time her contract is up on her Blackberry I’ll have made her see the light

      • IronHorse01

I agree with you, the 4s does feel sharp to hold due to the edges, let’s see if the 5 is any better seems like they smoothed the edges a bit

I have no experience with iPhone because app drawers are the biggest deterrent for me in the smartphones. Can you organize icons in any fashion? iPhone 5 Flop

Hype is terrific, but this will be one of the first articles you read about poor iPhone 5 sales compared to expectations and sinking Apple stock. Unlike the tech rag writers, I have no advertising motivation to push the current incumbent Apple or derive any revenue from Android, Windows Phone, or even the beleaguered Blackberry. Do you want to know why Apple started the campaign to not buy an iPhone at the beginning of August?

It was to hedge their bets while trying to look like the good guys, before the iPhone 5 launch. Let’s face it. Apple doesn’t really have anywhere else to go – nothing really evolutionary and still a very high price at $699. While trying desperately to push the idea that iPhone 5 alone will save the economy, Apple had to make sure there were hundreds of articles about not buying an iPhone in search engine results, before the real complaining articles come out and it’s difficult for customers to find or see the real truth and problems.

So the iPhone 5 is slightly thinner and larger, but here are 20 reasons not to buy one:

    1. The connector is different for charging and communications. Apple can’t come up with anything compelling in new products so they will shamelessly push you into buying all new iPod and iPad and related products with new connectors. 2. The adapter cables to connect old and new cabling with be $40 and won’t really work well. 3. Remember the antenna problems of the last model. You better get ready to practice your Vulcan live long and prosper exercises while you use your new iPhone 5. 4. How about the battery life? Bigger processor and more screen, there’s no way there will be another weak battery life problem. 5. Bet you’re going to have screen tint issues just like the iPhone 4. 6. It’s likely the slimmer and bigger screen will be even easier to break when bumped or dropped. 7. Don’t even think about getting near liquid of any kind. Moisture sensors are still by the connector ports so the moisture from the car drink tray will still invalidate the warranty even though your iPhone 5 didn’t get wet. 8. What’s that Siri? You’re still in beta, don’t understand women or thick accents, and pretty much still can’t get it right? That’s what I figured. 9. Will that infamously slow camera shutter keep you from capturing that important moment? 10. That tin sound on a loud-speaker probably won’t change how you play music. 11. Auto-correct is still terrible and the dictionary will continue to refuse to learn new words. 12. Get ready for another batch of really cheesy stock ring tones. 13. Mail will still likely get archived instead of deleted. 14. You won’t be able to reliably and effectively schedule meetings or know that you have all of your corporate mail for Exchange, because Apple insists on using their buggy ActiveSync from 2007. 15. Google is a hated competitor so Google Maps will purposefully remain inaccurate and not close to your destination. 16. Most of those billions of paid apps are still horrifically bad 17. Your iPhone 5 will still operate slowly, especially when compared to Android or Windows Phone. 18. iTunes randomly wipes all your data like before when you try to do an update. 19. iCloud sync will reliably remove all of your Outlook contacts. 20. iPhone 6 will be out next year and have the 5 things Apple already had developed and know people want but of course aren’t features of iPhone 5.

Everyone I’ve ever known that has an iPhone gripes about some of the above complaints. However, Apple must have a zombie mode and is secretly the Umbrella Corporation, because the same people are brain-washed and pre-programmed to gush “I just love it” when someone asks about the shiny white device. Just imagine a pristine white iPhone with the Umbrella Corporation logo from the Resident Evil saga – scary right?

So if you’re a zombie, I’m not going to shoot you in the head. Just read this three times and you’ll be back to your senses, each time louder and with feeling and until you’re screaming:

    I won’t buy an iPhone 5

    I Won’t Buy An iPhone 5

Thank you and I’m still your Virtual CIO. God bless you Jerry Maguire.

    • Siddharth Motwani

      21. The touch input is built into the display. When the screen inevitably cracks, the touch input won’t work either.

      • Apple Empire

Do u really think that it will stop millions of millions from buying it and loving it? Don’t make a fool of yourselves!!! It’s the most crystal clear best imagine quality and experience u could possibly get otta of a smartphone.

Aww Apple Empire, you’re cute <3

    • ari_free

The iPhone is shiny and Apple fans will continue to flock to it until Android has ‘teh shiny.’

      • Apple Empire

nah! even if android goes with teh shiny we will still not buy it….yours won’t be revolutionary!!! yikes!

        • MWFish

Can you name a revolutionary feature that the iPhone 5 is bringing to the table? Keep in mind that to be revolutionary, it would have to be something that isn’t already available. So far all I’m getting is the connector that you can plug in either way (which is pretty dang neat). The rest of the features are already available on other devices as far as I can tell. I guess you could say that the 4″ retina display is new, but 4″ displays have been around for a long time and retina displays aren’t new to the iPhone5. Just curious if you can actually think of anything innovative or revolutionary about this device.

Dude, I love Android as much as the next guy here, but what unicorn prancing, neckbeard ruled, conspiracy theory infested universe are you living in? Poor iPhone 5 sales? Sinking Apple stock? The iPhone 5 sold out of pre-orders in its first hour. Apple stock rose each day after the iPhone announcement to hit record highs both days. All your points are either inaccurate, wrong, or just plain bizarre. The reality is that iPhone 5 will be a hit. And so what? Android is also doing great, and will continue to do so, despite iPhone’s expected chart topping success these next few weeks. It’s delusional weirdos like you that give Android a bad name.

      • r121

The sold-out is because the manufacturers and the suppliers in Asia have production issues.

I’m not reading all of that, can you sum it up to 1 sentence?

    loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!!! this is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://www.google.com/profiles/phinnvr6 phinn

Funny, but i don’t see what the big deal is, 4″ is perfect in my opinion, and 16:9 is a good ratio.

    • Robert Jakiel

Yes this coming from the same people who said that 4″ was too big and 3.5″ inches was JUST RIGHT when Uncle Steve told you so. What a crock. Apple has their cult following so well tuned its’ almost like watching mass hypnosis or inducing a Pavlovian response with certain key words. Regardless by the time the year is up Apple will have sold millions of these early 2011 era phones and the rest of the smartphone world will be enjoying the new Android handsets from Samsung, LG, HTC and Moto and Nokia Lumia handsets which showcase cutting edge technology and show innovation.

Iron horse you stupid troll retard.
I know custom roms are out of your vocabulary but the gs2 runs way better than iphone 4s on Cm9. Apps open faster. And i have a brain unlike you and can root and debloat my phone.Small sacrifice to avoid the mind control of the apple eco system. I dont need to install itunes just to use my phones and tablets. I can do whatever I want when ever I want. Stay in apples walled garden. Let them think for you.Since you lack the ability to think for yourself.Seems like you think you know alot about the galaxy s2. Sounds like jealousy to me.

    • Ben Kapferer

I think you posted in the wrong section by accident.

    • IronHorse01

Hey modGirl, did I hurt your feelings girl? Lmao Roms? I know about roms you focktard, the fact is that I dot need them to make you to make my phone run good, you dumb piece of $hit need because your piece of garbage can’t run smooth without them “project butter right” lmfao pathetic.

  • indolent83

Slightly amusing, but shouldn’t the Iphone 10 have 10 rows, the 20 have 20 rows, etc?

  • Guest

Lol! Alright, let’s check out how badly the iPhone is flopping on its preorder launch day! Oh… Preorders sold out in less than an hour. Apple stock rises to a record high. Never mind.

  • Guest

That’s like a 40×9 aspect ratio. So it HAS to be better, right?

  • Modman

Yes follow the voice inside that says buy apple without any rhyme or reason. Prove that education in the us is at an all time low. Yes if everyone else follows apple off a cliff make sure you follow. Ignorant apple fanboism makes me sick. Apple fanatics never try any other products. If they did theyd clearly see android devices were better. They are entitled to their opinion stupid or not. However this ignorance allowed apple to patent rectangles and rounded edges in the us. The rest of the world including Japan isnt dumb enough to allow it. If apple is the number one company based on us sales. We truly are in sad shape.

    • Robert Jakiel

No no no. Apple thinks for them. This is why they do what they do. Simply because the fruit says so the fruit flies follow.

  • Modman

A sheep follows one fold. Android has many Samsung HTC Motorolla LG Huawei etc. To many others to mention. Apple fanboism is a fold in the iworld walled garden following their Furor Tim Cook.Android is the rest of the world. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD WAKE UP!

  • Modman

Seems you cant spell either roms are like installing an alternate os on your phone. Try doing that on any idevice.it isnt possible. Its locked up closed source just like your uneducated pea brain.

  • Modman

Apple is only ifans the rest of the world of the mainstream world android.
The Pc vs Mac Battle. History repeats itself.

  • a) youth.in.asia

Hopefully they go through with the iPhone 101 so someone can fly a plane into it.

    What?….?..? Too early??!?!

  • Del373

I found the images amusing. Also I’m not exactly sure why “Apple Empire” and “IronHorse01″ decided to pick this particular website of all places to voice their obviously Apple-biased opinions.

…unless they’re just trying to insight flame-wars in which case, please take your negativity somewhere else thank you.

  • Rob

Guess all the fan boys blocked out the interview when jobs stated in an interview that apple does NOT have the best hardware or software but they like it because its easy to use. Lol so guess jobs was catering to the not so bright lol

    • AppleWins

Indeed, I always felt he was condensing to his customer base
