Motorola, Verizon to host event September 5th

22

Verizon and Motorola are sending out press invites for an event set to take place September 5th in New York. Gee, I wonder what they could be planning to gather people for on that date…

Ooooh that’s right, there’s a smartphone rumored to be coming out that goes by the name of Motorola DROID RAZR HD. This HD successor to the original will feature a higher resolution display, a better processor, Android 4.0, and more.

It’s said the device could be coming to market without a “MAXX” variant. The original was reintroduced with a 3,000+ mAh battery which gave users up to 17 hours of use.

The RAZR HD will have quite a decent battery, though, if rumors are to be believed. And with its 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 processor you should be able to pull great battery life without needing extra hardware. We’ll be on our way to New York September 5th so circle back with us for full coverage on everything announced.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

Something’s up at OnLive — layoffs, bankruptcy, re-branding, and more rumored to be going down

  1. YEEEAAA! Droid Nexus with 5.7 inch SAMOLED+ screen, 4,000mAh, and dual HDMI ports!

    1. did you mean 4.7 ?

      1. No, 5.7

        1. seriously O.o ? not maybe a bit too much ? you have to also calculate the famous extended Motorola bezel

          1. Bezel was small on Droid X

          2. Truth.

          3. Not the bottom bezel!

    2. There’s something called a nexus 7. I suggest that you should get yourself one.

      1. Too big for a phone, and too small for true tablet browsing. Plus it has no 3g/4g. Now a phone such as a Note is perfect, it’s big, and it’s connected.

  2. Exciting reveal – 1000:1 odds
Disappointment rivaling the Atrix HD reveal (which was released over a month ago) – 1:1 odds

  3. DROID 5. Same device different name.

  4. Why dont you do what you say you are going to do before you dump out more crap

  5. Cool!
A new Motorola smartphone to get the spotlight for 5 minutes and then we get to see if it fades into support obscurity.

  6. Hopefully this turns out to be a nice device. Droid X really skewed my view of Motorola.

  7. Isn’t that the date of the Microsoft-Nokia-AT+T announcement?

  8. now that motorola is run by the Googs, I’d love to see these Droids go back to vanilla android like the OG Droid. Also an unlocked bootloader if you want any sort of adoption by power users

  9. They’ll also announce their new bootloader locking system. If you unlock the bootloaders to the point where you can flash custom kernels, your phone explodes. I still can’t believe this is the3 same company that brought us the OG Droid, and did more than anyone to really put Android on the map :/

  10. Maybe it’s to announce ICS for the Bionic, Haha!

  11. moto droid nexus? you got the hardware, and a ‘ship with google! come on motorola, blow it outta the water. plenty of battery. maybe galaxy note size screen… tiny bezel? ?!? unlocked bootloader would be appreciated as well, im sure.

  12. Fck verizon for getting all the good phones from motorola

    1. qq

  13. Maybe it’ll be a Nexus device?

    ….

    I can dream cant I..
