MoDaCo provides one last chance to get your hands on Adobe Flash for Android

21

If you haven’t heard, as of today Adobe has blocked any future installs of Flash for Android. They didn’t, however, remove the files from their servers. And, as the book goes, if you give a mouse a cookie, he’s going to ask for a glass of milk. And the folks at MoDaCo have gone for the glass of milk by releasing a tool that will pull the Flash install files from the official servers straight to your Android phone. Who said Flash was dead?

We get the feeling that once Adobe catches wind of this they may yank the files from their server altogether, but only time will tell. For now, if you still haven’t downloaded Flash you now have a second chance to grab it before it’s gone for good.

    4. how do you purely download it as .apk file (I’m on a PC)

        1. Thank you.

  2. why should we save this…once adobe is gone, wont we have some other flash program?

    1. No. Adobe owns Flash. If they take it away, it’s gone

      1. so how would we play vids on android browsers?

        1. There’s really not much to worry about considering how many .apk files are floating around the web.

  3. Yup saved just in case

  4. I have it backed up on my Nexus One and Asus transformer. My Note 10.1″ that I got today, is currently downloading all of my apps from Google and it just grabbed Flash. :)

Speaking of Flash, I tried FireFox’s implementation of it out an it’s kind of funny that the only allow it to display as super low-rez pixelated content.

Anyways, lots of rambles, but I’ll be sticking with the stock Android browser for as long as possible.

    1. If you expand the video to full screen it does look perfect. But it’s still quirky. They need to fix that.

  5. after downloading this (epic 4g touch) all i get is a blue lego with question marks on it where videos use to be viewable, can i get some assistance?

  6. after i downloaded this (on epic4g touch)all i get is a blue lego icon with questions on it where videos where before, can i get some assistance PLEASE!!!???????

      1. Ok thanks that helped, but your mom didn’t appreciate it very much

  7. Saved :-)

  8. I downloaded it and accidentally installed it and it ruined my flash player in the default browser. Basically all I would get is a little blue lego on the screen. I was able to fix this by doing the following;

    1. Clear cache and disable original browser. (performed in the APP settings)
    2. Uninstall and re-install Flash using the .apk file that was downloaded.
    3. Enabling the original browser and then everything worked.

Hope this helps for everyone that had their flash player corrupted by this download utility.
