Sprint Giving Away Free Galaxy Nexus Extended Batteries To New And Existing Customers [Deals]

44

Galaxy Nexus users on Sprint better circle August 19th on your calendars. According to this leaked internal Sprint memo, Ol’ Yeller is throwing a special, almost “too good to be true” promo deal exclusively for Galaxy Nexus customers on their network. Come this Sunday, Sprint will be giving away official Samsung extended batteries for the Galaxy Nexus — no strings attached — through the phone via telesales. Here’s some of the deets:

  • May be offered proactively
  • Offer good while supplies last
  • Available to new and existing customers (no purchase necessary)
  • Customer must enter promo code at checkout if buying online
  • No promo code needed if ordering through telesales

Customers will only be responsible for paying shipping charges but it’s like your mamma always told you, “Never look a gift horse in the mouth.” I still have no idea what that means exactly but I do know you’ll be saving about $50.

As to be expected with promotional deals such as this, the offer is only good while supplies last. That means once the promo goes live, you’d better be quick with the keys. You may have noticed mention of the deal also valid online through Sprint’s website, but without a promo code, you’ll be better off picking up the phone. We’ll be sure to let you know if we hear more. Good luck, everyone.

  1. My life is now complete! Glad to have been noticed by the big dogs! Thanks, Chris.

    1. No problem at all. Good find :)

  2. I need this!!

  3. Now if Verizon were to do something like this, Earth would explode.

    1. Verizon has shared data plans. O_o lol

    2. Maybe not Earth, but my head sure would.

  4. Hell Yeah I Hope with NFC. I have extended battery without I need it back.

  5. Pretty damn good news for Sprint GN owners. Nice move Sprint, Nice move. /clap

  6. How can this be when they don’t offer an extended battery to sell in the first place? If they finally released one on Sunday why would they immediately give them away right after releasing it when they could make money on all the people like me waiting for them? I’m hoping this is right because me and my wife both have a G Nex but I’m calling it to good to be true until I seen otherwise!

    1. whats the link to the website?

      1. I don’t know of a website because I’ve never seen a sprint extended battery for sale before. I.use a Verizon version minus two tabs I had to take off on the cover.

  7. When checking the health of a horse, it is customary to check out its teeth. The expression simply means that if someone is kind enough to give you a free horse, you don’t open up its mouth to see “how good a horse it is”. That would be obnoxious. You just say thank you for the horse. You can check its teeth later when you get home.

Disclaimer: I have never owned a horse, ridden a horse, worked or lived on a farm.

    1. Horses are very expensive to own no matter what the quality of the horse is. My Girlfriend owns two. If you were going to infact take a gift horse you would want to know it was of good quality. It is also very expensive to put down and dispose of a horse if it is of low quality. If you want a free horse there are plenty around simply because both feeding them and puting them down is so expensive. I know that you weren’t expecting someone in the android forums to know about horses and I really don’t know much other than that is where all my Girlfriends money goes. Good thing she is a Vet. If she didn’t own horses we would own all the Androids. That said in this day and age, if someone was trying to gift you a horse I would infact recommend looking it in it’s mouth.

      1. I appreciate the insight on horse ownership. That being said, if you are in the position to accept a free horse, knowing the financial implications of horse ownership, and someone offers you a free horse…. should you want a free horse you should accept said horse without looking in its mouth. If you are not in a financial position to handle owning and caring for a horse, then the proper recourse would be to politely decline the free horse.

Also, I’m assuming the expression came about prior to the age of automobiles when horses were more valuable and practical as opposed to being more of a luxury item as they are now. I’m sure ‘back in the day’, if someone gave you a free horse and the horse turned out to be unwell, you probably took it out in the woods and shot the thing. Cost: 1 bullet (or possibly some black powder and a lead ball.

      2. the reason for the expression is a horses teeth never stop growing, if you look in their mouth you can get a rough idea of a horses age by the length of their teeth. and that is why you look a gift horse in the mouth….to see how old it. i have been waiting years to tell anyone that.

    4. will my NFC still work?

    1. 1.yes 2.couldnt see it not being included 3.not at all it just gets rid of that little lip in the back. also look up some videos 4.yes it should still be an nfc…..should be i said
