No Motorola Droid RAZR HD this Friday, according to Facebook clue

12

So Motorola has been playing a little game this week, giving us a clue on their Facebook page each day leading up to a “big” handset reveal on Friday. Except today’s clue pretty much takes all the fun out of things. While we were expecting (and hoping) that Motorola might finally unveil the long in gestation Motorola Droid RAZR HD, it sounds more likely we will be hearing about a Motorola ATRIX HD launch for other parts of the world.

Today’s clue reads, “I browse the Web, multitask and power through emails with my 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. And just a note, I’m in market in the U.S. from Motorola already.” Sure sounds like the ATRIX HD to us, which is already available from AT&T and features the same processor spec. Cue the sad trombone.

  1. Motorola revealed it is just connecting with fans and no new phone will be announced on Friday, just a heads up :)

  2. Soo they are playing a game on their US Facebook page that is only for the rest of the world just to garner blog attention for something that they’re not announcing? Fun.

  3. RAZR HD == Droid Bionic version 2012.
    .

    1. i lold

    2. No kidding. Remember the internal memo showing the Droid Fighter release date as April 12th or something? Totally would have picked this up over the S3, but it’s still nowhere to be found…

    3. Except the Bionic was introduced at CES and pushed WAYYYY back.

The Razr HD has never been officially announced or acknowledged by Motorola.

  4. I like the approach, but this is oh so very underwhelming. I’ve said Hello Moto for quite some time, but it seems in terms of technology and innovation that all manufacturers are playing catch up to Samsung.

  5. Who cares? It ain’t Samsung or apple.
Does anyone still use motorola anyway? Hello moto should read good bye moto!

  6. Even this rumored HTC One X + will be overlooked. Right now Sammy is hot and probably won’t cool down til the Nexus hit carriers. I hope HTC makes it and Google releases it on all four major carriers.

  7. I’m guessing they had to revamp their original RAZR HD when the S4 processor came out. Now they are probably revamping again due to JB coming out and Samsung making 2gb ram mandatory on top of the line phones

  8. At this point I’d rather wait for a possible Moto Nexus anyways.

  9. same old ugly looking phone!! talking about running out of ideas!
