Developer Ports ID Software’s Doom 3 To Android [Video]

5

Okay, so it might not look like the above screenshot just yet, but one ambitious developer has been hard at work porting 2004’s’ Doom 3 over to Android. Still in its (very) pre-alpha stages, the game can be seen running on the mature HTC Desire HD. Sure, it takes about 2 minutes to load and there aren’t things like — gee, I don’t know — enemies, but we can see camera movement via touch screen controls are functioning, as well as a flurry of punches being thrown (although not sure if intentional).

Not sure exactly what plans the developer has for the title or if we can expect the BFG Edition (I kid), but sometimes it’s just fun to know things like this are possible. Video below (skip ahead to the 2 minute mark).

  1. That game, while decent looking, was a disappointment on the PC.
Why does it seem like it might be good for a tablet?

    1. You want disappointing try Rage, I couldn’t even finish the game I uninstalled it halfway through. It was so tedious, repetitive, and boring to me. There was almost no storyline, boring characters, ugh. I liked Doom 3.

  2. I hope to God it’s free D:
