The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. at this point wait till jelly bean devices come out….

    1. Unless you don’t want to wait and see what the prices of those devices are. The Gnex will most definitely run Jelly Bean very easily.

  2. Keep in mind that all these nexus’ that are selling for these lower prices anywhere besides the play store are the “YAKJUXW” branded nexus’ which rarely get updates. Meaning that Samsung updates these specific ones and they take FOREVER! My coworker and manager bought the lower priced ones and they have yet to even see one update, it’s been like 4 months.

    1. This does not matter at all if your plan to root and put a custom ROM on the device.

      1. I think the point might be that it is ridiculous that one has to root the phone in order to flash the latest update for your phone (since this phone is pretty much the same phone Google is making updates for).

        1. Most folks who want the nexus wants to root. Thats a major point of this phone and why its not massively marketed to the masses.

But this model is 16gigs. I’m surprise nobody is screaming about it since so many scream so hard that they can’t go beyond 32gigs.

          1. They don’t sell a GSM 32gb to my knowledge even the device in the play store is 16.

@CTownOL:disqus As someone said above I was a little off, you are able to manually flash updates without rooting and can find simple step by step instruction via Google search.

    2. If people are buying the Nexus for the updates, they should do their homework and flash immediately to either the takju or yakju build to get the updates.

    3. You mean like the Verizon Nexus?

      1. The verizon nexus at least got their update. They’re still waiting on theirs and they’re GSM!

  3. You don’t need to root to update Nexus, and just use Odin.

  4. Is this with or without the purple tint?
