Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Gets New S Pen Slot and Quad-Core Exynos [Pics]

We’ve known for quite sometime that the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet will soon be making its debut, but when it was shown off at MWC this year, some were surprised to find a complete lack of an S Pen slot, to sheath Samsung’s  stylus. As Samsung so often does, they’ve gone back to the drawing board, retooling the design of the G-Note tab, this time adding not only a quad-core Exynos processor (fantastic move, Sammy), but also a holster for the S Pen inside the table as well.

The newly designed Galaxy Note tab was pictured at a Samsung event in Europe, and you may have noticed, Samsung has slimmed down the stylus considerably, but makes available an optional S Pen holder kit for those that like a little more girth in their hands. We’d suspect that this will also add the erasing functionality we saw when Rob took a look at the tablet during MWC a few months back. Current rumors are pointing towards a June release for the tablet.

    I can handle that.

  • Zenstrive

Do want. Quad Core Exynos for 10bit MKV :)

  • Patrick Cassels

Nice move Samsung! This makes the Note 10.1 so much more attractive.

  • Tony Lai

    I hope it is ICS..

  • JBO1018

Holy crap its lovely. Please please please ship the exynos quad in the US version. My phone has LTE and it can tether so no need for the trade off.

  • warcaster

I hope the Note tablets become a thing, too. S-pen is much better than capacitive styluses.

    waiting…want wifi only.

I don’t really care to have a tablet but it’d be cool to have this along with my Note LTE. I could buy the bigger pen and use it for both.

I don’t know whether to get this ( I like the white) or wait to see if there will be a retina display equivalent android tablet releasing any time soon.

    What’s the screen resolution?

  • Butts_McButts

I’m wanting a high-res Samsung tablet, but this might have to do.

Where does it mention T604, because I doubt it’s there.

  • RangersK

It’s rumored to have a higher resolution display: probably 1920×1200 according to an insider.

    • youareme7

I really hope so! That would make it “check all the boxes” for me. Do you have any link or website about the resolution? I haven’t found anything about that yet.

      • RangersK

No, I heard straight from the insider. He said the Note 10.1 would definitely have a higher resolution screen: probably 1920×1200. Just wait and see. :)

  • Matthew Merrick

i’ll take this over the transformer 700 infinity (my current #1 wishlist item) if it has as good a screen as the infinity. :)

This just keeps getting better and better.
Also I wouldn’t mind a thicker but still light tablet like the Acer Iconia Tab A510 that houses a superb battery that lasts for 12 -15 hours!
The thickness will give good reason to include a S Pen slot.

    Common Samsung do not disappoint.

According to Samsung Norway@facebook, they have also moved the speakers to the front (You can vaguely see them on the picture). Good move :]

Sadly, just read another site claiming the same display res. as my Note phone.1280×800 which on the phone at 5.3″ display is off the charts but stretching out to 10.1 is last year’s standard.
