Huawei announces Ascend P1 global availability

10

With the Huawei Ascend P1 launching in China today and subsequently selling out according to the company’s chairman, details of the handset’s global retail availability are being released. The slim (but not as slim as its Ascend P1 S counterpart) smartphone will launch in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Australia this May followed by Latin America in June and Europe later in the summer. More markets will see the Ascend P1 further down the road.

Pricing of 4.3-inch handset with dual-core 1.5GHz processor hasn’t been revealed for each region, but we suspect we’ll hear those details closer to launch. Huawei made no mention of the Ascend P1 S, which measures in at a millimeter thinner than the Ascend P1’s 7.7mm girth.

  1. Its too bad that if it comes to the US the Carrier will remove the branding and just put their logo.  I think the Huawei logo is neat, and would be happy to show it off.

    1. dat color though…

      1. That’s why they have other options for you to choose from.

      2. I kinda dig it.

      3. I like the colour. So much more interesting that the usual black/white/grey/silver yawn-fest that most other manufacturers call a colour scheme.

    2. It reminds me of the NBC logo though…

  2. The back of that device really reminds me of the iPod (original).

  3. They need to remove all that junk text from the back cover.

    1. Some humans have those on them too… I believe they call them ‘tattoos’… Same lettering and everything…
