Carbon for Android Twitter Client Gets Previewed on Video

9

Since first hearing that Carbon, a highly regarded Twitter app which originated on webOS, would be coming to Android, I was excited out of my shoes. Unfortunately, all we got at that point were a couple of rather unrevealing shots of the app – it was a Twitter client designed for Ice Cream Sandwich. Today, we get a lot more.

A video hands-on was posted to Google+ showing off a few of the app’s features. It’s pretty much a Twitter client, but a lot more beautiful than we could have imagined. The app makes extensive use of Android 4.0’s new animations library.

I’d liken the work done on it to the work done on the Google chrome for Android app. It’s best to watch for yourself, though, so be sure to take a look at the video above. It’s said to be getting an alpha release soon so we’ll all get an early chance to see how it’s shaping up before too long. [via Android Police]

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

    1. Is there no ICS rom for Tbolt? Or are you a non rooted stock user?

    2. You could look at this from the otherside. The TB is suppose to get ICS and by the time it does all these optimized ICS apps will have the bugs worked out of them for the most part. No alpha/beta testing for you … just a bit of a smoother ride. :)

  5. The great thing about cheap video capture devices is that literally anyone can upload video to the internet without training. The horrible thing about it is that anyone can upload video to the internet without training. This video is horrible. Why turn the camera sideways? Why are you providing a horrible soundtrack? The app looks good. This video does not.

  6. Dang, this app is beautiful. The picture in the background reminds me of WP7/Zune player, very attractive. I wish this was for GB but I may just switch back to ICS on my HD2 to try this out.
