Deal Alert: Galaxy Nexus 3,800mAh Extended Battery For $8 (Free Shipping)

26

One of the things I love most about owning an Android device is — despite their sometimes horrendous battery life — most Android phones will allow you to swap out the battery like a magazine clip, for popping in another when you need extra juice on-the-go. I’ve also been known for buying some of the cheapest batteries, from the darkest parts of the web I can find simply for the sake of saving a few bucks.

If you’re thrifty shopper like I am, you may want to check out this deal from CellularFactory. They are currently offering a 3,800mAh extended battery with the cover for the Galaxy Nexus, all for the low-low price of just $8 (use code: 1H7RFK for free shipping).

No, you wont get NFC capabilities. No, you most likely wont get the same life out of similarly equipped higher-quality 3,800 batteries, but you’ll also be able to take the Mrs. out for a nice night on the town. Thank me later.

I've been obsessed with consumer technology for about as long as I can remember, be it video games, photography, or mobile devices. If you can plug it in, I have to own it. Preparing for the day when Android finally becomes self-aware and I get to welcome our new robot overlords.

  4. Hey good thing to have in a car or something when you need just in case you know..anyone know if it’s save to leave it on a car during the summer.and how long it will stay charged?

    1. Woah woah woah.. These likely wont explode on you in any normal circumstances but leaving ANYTHING in the car on a hot summers day will result in meltage, leakage and blowage.

Put in in a baggy, inside the glovebox with your car parked in the shade and you should be alright…

  5. yes, it’s me, the GN battery hater, but i am not that stupid to fell for that $8 cheap poop.

  6. I cant afford not to buy this piece of shit

  7. Disclaimer: May cause fire and/or explosions.

    1. i ain’t worried, i’m made outta steel

  8. @ZHuang but you are too stupid to misuse “fell” for “fall”.

  9. Thanks chris, but i really do like the slim profile of my Galaxy Nexus, and NFC is a must i use gwallet 2-3 times a week.

  10. Mr. Chavez, as a small arms instructor/armorer with 20+ years of experience….a magazine and a clip are 2 separate items contrary to what Hollywood movies portray.

    1. Has anyone ever called you a wet blanket before?

      1. Right before he emptied a magazine into ’em, or was it a clip?

  11. All the haters…
I’ve been using the 2 China batteries + charger for 3 months now. I paid $12 shipped from Ebay. Not a single complaint from me. They are in regular rotation with the stock battery and I never know the difference. Nothing sweeter than running down to 5%, swapping out the batt and being back to 100%. Throw the used batt in the charger and I’m off again. I never have to plug my phone in.

I also use the Diztronic slim case and it is very easy to slip off and on.

Thanks for the heads up, Chris. But do I need the extended battery cover to use this?

  12. TAAAAAANNNKK!!  GET THE MOLOTOV’S!!!

  13. does this work with the cdma gnex?

  14. i was going to ask if verizon had another outage but 4g is back

  15. I just wish the battery wont make the phone so fat, it is kind of uncomfortable when I have it in my pocket and it feels like I have a boner. And no, I don’t wear skinny jeans with my ball sack bulging for everyone else to see.

  16. Only find the battery for $14 not $8.

  17. this article forgot to mention if this battery fits the Verizon version of the Galaxy Nexus, or the GSM version of the Galaxy Nexus

  18. It will make the Galaxy Nexus look very bulky. I tried doing and extended life battery with EVO and it just doesnt look right and the color of the cover doesnt match the device perfectly

  19. this sounds like a good deal but without NFC (even though i dont use it now, i plan on traveling and if i dont have it then ill be really mad) and having to buy a new case i dont think i can manage :(. thanks for the tip though, i bought my GN from the post that was up for $100 off the retail price :)
